Have plenty of friends who are looking into cryptos and redirected them here instead.
They keep asking about Bitcoin and I’m like Nooo! You can’t mine Bitcoins with your GPU! Forget it!
Go Feathercoin!

I want to subscribe to the newsletter.
This is one feature I’m either yet to figure out, or, need if it doesn’t exist.
Lol, I haven’t found it either.
With an on-screen keyboard you use the mouse to enter your password, correct?
A logger could log your mouse movement+clicks and take a screen shot when you click.
No?
Yeah. I guess the only other way to see it, is from the perspective of ‘choice architecture’, that the easier you make something for people, the more likely they are to do it. Although I’d take a guess that the hassle of ‘loading’ your ‘tipping wallet’ and remember to keep it topped up, could be enough of a short term hassle to discourage the feature from being truly easy.
I’ll see if I can encourage more FTC usage on my Music related forum and if it has an uptake, I might see where I can take it.

You spelled ‘subverted’ wrong. Other than that, +1.

Heh… It seems thereâ€s many different opinions of ACP. I think itâ€s good thing to mention, because itâ€s something that is different from LTC. Much better to see that than just a description “LTC copyâ€. When more development happens (flux, link, etc.), then this kind of list should also have updated info.
Not much discussion about info that should be updated… So people mostly agree with earlier suggestion? If that was good, Iâ€m asking if some community member who has bitcointalk account could post update request there? Just can copy that suggestion in quote or even improve it with some better idea. When posting, they probably ask some confirmation source for changes (acp & difficulty adjust). Linking this also should offer all information that they need: http://www.feathercoin.com/about/

Also I was thinking of starting an e-shop that sells feathercoin t-shirts, bumper stickers, mugs, flags and other promotional things.
Let me know what you guys think

Your second idea fits much more into the alternate currency philosophy. The Satoshi Bitcoin protocol is a self aligning system with an early adopter bonus already built in.
What is starting to happen next is, goods and services to be paid in Feathercoins. A wider acceptance will vastly increase the value above what short term pump and dumps can do Because the more people who want it, the more scarce the coin.
There is no point attracting too many non technical people before we can properly handle it. That is a common cause of enterprise failure.
As the network is created the early adopter bonus is reduced. Then transaction fees (by group concensus of miners) will pay for the network.

I get that. But what would be the difference of placing a feathercoin stick on your car bumper and changing your fb profile pic to the ftc logo?
It is a very nice symbol and if people see it on facebook and like it then they might buy some of my feathercoin merchandise which can only be purchased with feathercoin. Thats one way to look at it, then another type of person might buy feathercoin and use it to buy mining equipment or other such things
Thanks a lot!
When have a time I’ll keep adding extra features. Right now thinking of two projects - lite version ( current price ) and db version ( with history in it and more graphics ).
I know google app engine now supports php, so def. creating widget that will run on the client side ( browser ) and not waste blog/site resources or require server side installation will be win.
You can embed public notes with transactions. Check out the silk road’s seized coins: https://blockchain.info/address/1FfmbHfnpaZjKFvyi1okTjJJusN455paPH
If you want to do more, you can use Link, which is suitable for embedding any sized arbitrary data AND associated meta-data which can be indexed and searched. The project could use your donations too, if you think it’s useful and want to help see it to completion. This is a good idea, but you can also just put a link to your shop on the marketplace in your signature. Maybe a ‘verified’ seller option could be implemented or such.

Fwiw, I have been participating on the Zidisha.org microlending community for over a year and I notice there are several problems that ftc might help to address. The organization often struggles to get money into these poorer countries and to the lenders, and the lenders may have to travel 50km to visit a bank to make a monthly payment. They have access to internet and mobile phones but not to financial services that are easy to use.
I think microlending organizations would be very open to viable micro payment systems.

At the next major air show I am going to jump out of a plane wearing a bird suit with feathers and all, and with a couple of Feathercoin flags in tow. That should get people talking. By the way after I jump do I count to 10 or a 100 before I pull the rip-cord? Just wondering!!

Hang on, buying more ftc since you flying will raise the value sky-high! +1
I’m sure you will be able to help, cryptographic currency is a very exciting and novel development which we are trying to implement. It has many opportunities to learn new and appropriate skills for the future, as we are open source.
A lot of work has also been done to make the forum as useful as possible and encourage community participation.
Even if you are an old hand. How many times did you see extreme programming in action or have 10 people work on a bug at once? Also, Github is also a brilliant software development tool, if you haven’t got into that yet.
There is so much to do or that could be done, all areas are open for contribution.
I’ve been categorising the threads [solved] etc as part of our new policy to make the forum as useful as possible. I will help you produce any guides. I also added [FAQ] where I found a useful thread.
The highest priority for that reorganisation was Support, in case any one had not been helped. Maybe Suggestions should be next to be re-organised?
In this case the mining field is wide and changing, and also many guides are about.
I am for a list of guides, and will pin any work you do here, and help where I can.
However - Mining Thread - might be the best area to get this kicked off and that’s why it got buried…
