I just noticed Btc-e was down. Any idea if they got DDoS or if they are just doing maintenance?
Back Online, everything safe, what happened was a poweroutageThis sudden loss in power and thus sudden shutdown of a server while in working state can do damage to either the HDD and / or the PSU, thankfully it only had to rebuild the database, this checking takes HOURS and HOURS though, 8 hours of rebuilding the database in total is what made up for the 9 - 10 hours of downtime. What i don't understand though is why their datacenter doesn't give them an A -and- B feed of power, where feed A is their original power and feed B is the backup powered by either diesel-generators or a shitload of batteries. Bad situation not having redundant power for such a big exchange ...
