      If there was a way to give only the CPU an advantage in a Hashing Algorythm, how? What is the best way to make it so that CPU Mining would be 100s of times better than GPUs (A small disadvantage for the GPU won’t work: Because GPUs are way more scalable). I know this was the Intent of scrypt, but It has failed. If there was a way that CPUs could offer better Hashing preformance?

        It’s difficult to think there will be a way, once they are programmed, GPUs are much better than CPUs at this number crunching.

        What is more possible development worth investigating is a means of preventing Scrypt ASIC mining. It looks like there will always be a problem with new network attacks to “prove security and rise from obscurity” in the future.

        When there are many coins and one coin is bigger with > 10x the hash power, the smallell coin is open to attack. Having a way to start new coins is essential and adding Scrypt was what saved Litecoin from being attacked out of existence, like previous coins had been.

        I did look into wither you could use “Jayne” or some extra algorithm or extra level of compression. ASICs only work on one algorithm, so a new one has to be designed each time the maths are changed.

        It will only be possible to mine by CPU until the GPU software is written, then the ASICs and so on. Until the network is created. The early adopter bonus reduces as there is enough coin networks to cover the need …

        I’d be interested what the current state of play is with “Jayne” and alternate algos.

          “Jayne” may be good for avoiding ASICs. But GPUs… that is a bit harder.
          The only way to really kill GPUs would be logic. Sure, GPUs have logic cores, but not as good as CPUs.
          This could offer a good advantage.
