By the way John from Songs of Love has raised 151 FTC from this post. I would love to go back to him next week and tell him we were the coin that raised him enough money to write a song for a child (which is $250).
If you liked his charity and were thinking of doing it please don’t put it off as the sooner you put something in the more positive feedback that will create and others will do the same.

[/quote]I like! Small weekly giveaway with newsletter can be really good thing. I would be happy to give some of my coins for this good purpose. Hope we could get some small group of people for weekly funds. Like you said… Feathercoin is doing great here and Chris put a lot of effort to great newsletter, but people outside of community know nothing about this :'(
In this kind of giveaway can also play a little with amount of coins. Giveaway with 0,5 ftc will give double amount of bumps compared to 1,0 ftc with same budget. After testing couple times, there can be found optimal level, which keep weekly news on front page for whole week and it doesn’t cost too much of our precious Feathercoins. Last time ~20 bumps with 20 ftc was enough to more than double views, so not bad start ;D
Idea: there could be different combinations than just a normal giveaway? Another combination could be type of lottery: “Tell what was your favorite topic in this newsletter and post your Feathercoin address. Before the next newsletter there will be lottery for ~3 x 10 FTC among everyone who answered.†?

1. could a small percentage go to a Feathercoin charity like Songs of Love?
2. some skill is involved in winning so that it isn’t pure gambling eg it could reward someone who took the time to read the article. -

That could have good impact to view amounts. People like giveaways and of course should advertise a little 8)Also maybe consider headline naming in other forums? Usually weekly newsletter start with some headline sentence. This is nice detail and works well in ftc’s own forum, but in the other forums it might be little hard to notice that this is important newsletter between all the other topics?

1. Organizing fund for charity and other good stuff sounds good and important thing, but how to separate funds to different places from this giveaway idea? Maybe best way to make multiple uses would be if Feathercoin community would collect funds similar style like wdc? Take donations to central place and spend coins for good things: marketing, development, charity, etc.? Hmmm… Or maybe in this newsletter thing something “if we reach ~100 replies, then XXX FTC will be given to charity X� Still it would be more awesome if we can courage people to give something there straight?PS. Chris, I did small thing earlier for that Songs of Love and sent there 10 FTC at the same time when I sent some funds for Chekaz… I know it’s not much, but at least something from a small holder :)
2. That lottery was just a one suggestion, but I agree that even myself I didn’t like the gambling aspect of that idea. But for purpose of this kind of giveaway it could work well. Good side is: we can say time period when to post for attend to lottery and we know budget forehand. Might work better than “we give 1 ftc for first 50 peopleâ€, because no need to worry that giveaway is out of funds too fast and then we are out of bumps. If this kind of giveaway is good and it could become weekly habit, there could be some different types? I suggest next time could be just normal giveaway “post your addressâ€. I believe 0,5 ftc could be enough to make people to post (and money last longer). At least we should ask people to post “which one was their favorite article?â€, so there is small task for reward and it’s not too big task that people don’t bother to attend. If this seems success then can try later some other variations? And if someone has an idea of some other easy and simple task then can use some different variation also of that?
Ok… And how to deal with this forward? Christmas special was last of this year so next one planned 7.1.2014? How much funds we need, is earlier suggested 50 ok? If 50 x 0,5 FTC there will be 100 bumps. ChekaZ, if I send you 30 more, does we have budget full to make this happen? Should we try to add some charity trick there with some amount?
I have good feeling about this… Great newsletter + nice giveaway => 1000… no, it’s 2000 views ;)
