Feathercoin daemon and wallet production version 0.16.3
Attention!!!! If you are running a Feathercoin version other than 0.16.3 upgrade imediately to 0.16.3 . It contains an important bug fix

Feathercoin:Address\_here\_protocol.

Had one of those eureka moments before and realised it was all in the registry:
Decided to do a quick mock webpage complete with donate button linking to feathercoin:address_here

The following registry entries are dependant on the client being installed in the above (see image) location…I have created an installer.exe for the client already, I just need to add the following entries to it.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\feathercoin]
@=“URL:Feathercoin Protocol”
“URL Protocol”=""
“UseOriginalUrlEncoding”=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\feathercoin\shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\feathercoin\shell\open]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\feathercoin\shell\open\command]
@=hex(2):22,00,43,00,3a,00,5c,00,50,00,72,00,6f,00,67,00,72,00,61,00,6d,00,20,\
00,46,00,69,00,6c,00,65,00,73,00,20,00,28,00,78,00,38,00,36,00,29,00,5c,00,\
46,00,65,00,61,00,74,00,68,00,65,00,72,00,63,00,6f,00,69,00,6e,00,5c,00,66,\
00,65,00,61,00,74,00,68,00,65,00,72,00,63,00,6f,00,69,00,6e,00,2d,00,71,00,\
74,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,22,00,00,00
Now when you enter feathercoin:address_here into the browser address bar you will see the above prompt to open the qt client.

…I could not of done any of it without that button! 😉

Still a long way to go and I feel the rest of the work will need be done client side also, IE: To enable values etc to be added to the link and for the client to understand them once imported.

No need for javascript widgets (that’s just for a fancier button - although they do look very nice 😎 ) - It still uses BIP0021 URL/URI - It’s the Feathercoin client that needs to be able to parse all of this information now.

Funnily enough I have been working on similar - yet less fancy, same protocol - plain vanilla .html buttons for Feathercoin:

Cheers, they also work unlike those CoinWidget things < I have been trying to get a Button to display for over an hour now :-\ (The ones on their site look good though :D)

Agreed! What is going on with this? As far as I understand, we’re still waiting something to be implemented into FTC client app, right? This is something that lots of people could use on their websites…something that is visible in public (free advertisements if you will).

It is built into the latest feathercoin-qt.exe v0.6.4.3-QR http://downloads.feathercoin.com/feathercoin-qt.exe
with a feathercoin:addressshere URL you will be prompted to open up the client < But It does not parse the address, amount, label and auto fill the data into the client yet, this is still work to be done.
