A bit of a noob here.
Looking for some support on mining and what to expect. I am going to post in the support area, with a screenshot or two, and hopefully I begin to learn a little more.
Actually, it appears I might have to post here for the time being.
I am using an nVidia 1060 and have tried using the One Click Miner (on CCMiner for nVidia). The problem is it doesn’t use neoscrypt. Instead it uses lyra2v2.
Firstly, is this a problem?
I get a positive reading in the output, I get 21.6 Mh/s which is reasonable for one card. I get this readout:
“2018-03-13 08:27:38] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 1060, 20.99 MH/s
[2018-03-13 08:27:38] accepted: 67/69 (diff 0.034), 21.06 MH/s yes!”
So, in my mind that is positive. Any thoughts?
First of all welcome to the form
If your miner uses the lyra2v2 algorithm to mine, it thinks that it fond a block or a share because the block found matches the requirements for lryra2. As this is not the same as Neoscrypt the pool you are using or the wallet in case of solo mining will not accept the block.
So whatever your miner tells, it doesn’t do any productive work.
Neverthless there is a miner with nVidia and Neoscrypt support available.

Thank you for the welcome and well thought out reply.
I changed to CCMiner, but things appear to be going a bit slow. I’ll have to see what settings CCMiner can be put at to get the 1060 to go full output.
The hashrate is dependent on the Algorithm used. with Neoscrypt the cards get less hash rate than with Lyra.

@slim6y I think 600-700kh/s is possible with a GTX 1060.
@tobi97l ~800KH/s on a GTX 1060 with my CUDAminer
here are my values:
MSI GTX 1060 6GB with Ccminer Alexis + Nvidia driver 384.xx in neoscrypt :
775kh/s (i-14 + afterburner set to max temp 69 with auto power limit)
815kh/s (i-14.5 + afterburner set to max temp 70 with auto power limit)
MSI GTX 1060 3GB with Ccminer Alexis + Nvidia driver 384.xx in neoscrypt :
pool side reports ± the same rate as miner.
if Nvidia driver newer than 384.xx is used, use Ccminer tpruvot instead, tune intensity value and hashrate will be ± the same.
mining at system with Intel i-3 3220, 10GB RAM and Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
so after long run of alexis ccminer there is a try of latest cryptodredge (0.6.0).
MSI GTX 1060 6GB gives these values:
835kH/s (i-5 and max temp set to 70 + autopower limit in afterburner) - cca 130W
and summer power saving mining with less heat 730kH/s (i-5 and max temp set to 63) - cca 90W per card
it seems that this miner is stable and pool reported hashrate is + - the same as the miner reports. This miner is not free, there is 1% dev fee - miner switch mining to dev pool for very short periods during the day.
I get ~730KH/s on a GTX 1060 6Gb @ 90W with my CUDAminer. Additional ~100KH/s with the default 120W power consumption which boosts SPs from ~1600MHz to ~2000MHz.
