Although informative, this post is a bit out of date :

i was trying to do away with a 3rd party for some transactions and save on customer service. I can see it being misused if there is trust above and beyond but if that was a potential issue then you would just set the value to 0. its meant to be a convenience for everyone involved. really i can only see it being used normally with a business. we would probably do 2 days for online orders. and prep the order then ship as soon as it cleared, if the cancel we don’t send. in any other case we would put 0.
I think, it is worth a try, but…
to stay at such converting platforms, we need to have volume there, otherwise it’s not worth the effort the owners have to maintain Feathercoin on their platform and we are removed during an update, where they don’t implement FTC again.
But still, we should try it.
If you don’t try you can’t win
great idea, i imagine an app/service for any kind of job where the people doing the jobs can choose to get paid in fiat or split their payout between fiat and crypto
so for example if I post a job like “Help with setting up a crypto currency block explorer” or “I need someone to walk my dog weekly”
I as the job poster could say I’m willing to pay 80% fiat and 20% FTC - not sure how the numbers would pan out but yeah, it would be an interesting way to show crypto is kinda like fiat :)…just better
I use Lastpass Chrome extension - generates me my passwords @ 50 chars and an adblocker…
Too many separate passwords to remember nowadays between work, home, family members…
Oh the joys of being a sysadmin…
Thought I comment, Granted its old Post.
So with everyone going investing made, with CoinBase etc, investors love a Good how much is my digital currency worth.
Maybe under the total on the client have a cheeky USD or BTC value.
I currently use an iOS App, called BlockFolio, which allows me to have all my coins in one place, and I get a sexy £ at the top of the page with the value of the lot.
@thebaron said in Impliment TOR:
Just to seek some clarity; according to the FAQ, FTC can run through TOR, but is this the same as the TOR implementation seen on other privacy coins? If FTC had the same capabilities as those coins then it would be a real winner. There’s about half a dozen going that route, including Verge, Monero, etc.
From my research those coins just automated routing through Tor. Be interested to know if any other benefit from Tor was involved.
@j_scheibel - Yeah that’s totally fair.
Put it this way, my entire family and most of my friends know I am into crypto…I preach bitcoin, litecoin, feathercoin to the masses whenever I can. I dont bring up things like eth or icos because it just confuses people. I still believe education is the real solution.
I do see your point and I’d say a safe solution involving a bank might go something like this:
paper wallet + instructions on some kind of durable or laminated paper…possibly even engraved into metal. These could then be stored at a bank safety box that’s registered to the husband and wife, as part of their Will or so on. This still gives them ownership of their private keys while giving them better physical security than what most homes could provide.
You do however…have to trust a bank
I am unhappy with Slack, we tried it and it was taken over by bullies and split the team from the forum. You are fine to start one or manage it but I won’t go on anything non open source, if I can help it.
It’s not part of the core responsibilities of the Team. More an associated project.
It could have open source components available that can be converted, or as a paid project a software developer could explore, ie adding FTC to a current project to head.
It would be better as an open chat thread, the Team area is restricted to moderators.
Moved to suggestions
Troll by proxy? interesting and novel …

Things I won’t judge you for:
Who you are as a person
Things I will judge you for: how you indent code and what bracket style you use.

I honestly believe the reason why ethereum is so big is due to the extensive investment into the project itself, not the value of it.

There is absolutely no form of documentation on the RPC, and you expect people to use your currency?

You go to a website like feathercoin, and looks neat and convincing right?
Then you navigate and things go downhill.
[FAQ] : What is RPC?
Remote procedure call (RPC) protocol. Primarily this specification defines several data structures and the rules around their processing. It is transport agnostic in that the concepts can be used within the same process, over sockets, over HTTP, or in many various message passing environments.
These data sructuctures are used to pass information over a common programming interface or API.

@Lizhi
That’s because Feathercoin.com will only have the “official” release version. Not version 0.9.5, 0.11.x or other versions, which have caused so many problems with FORKs that the Community has had to handle and are not agreed releases.
I would rather somone have No download than the wrong one. Sorry
@wrapper : It doesn’t. I have checked, but there is a possibility to include own http into the forum page. This may be a way to get the status pages included
