Has anyone done the math on this game? The owner is making a fucking fortune with every purchase. 40% interest, yet the price doubles? That means his take is 60% on every purchase. Never mind when they go boom and he takes 90%…

This game could be SO much better…

Here’s my thoughts.

1. Higher interest. Like 100%. The website owner can make his profit when they go boom.
2. Purchasing of timer resets. Own the grenade? It’s about to explode? Spend 10% to reset the timer.
3. Chat box.
4. Login accounts so you don’t have to keep putting in your address, and can deposit coins ahead of time allowing for 1 click purchases.

From the looks of things the game is dying, but if it was made more attractive to play, I bet more people would get in on it.

In the meantime I’ve created #bitgrenade on freenode to serve as the chat box. Come join me there.

there’s a thread on bitcoin talk where the creator (vipah, or something along those lines) actually goes through the math because one player got all pissy they lost their FTC. He does a comparison with other hotpotato/bitgrenade games - haven’t gone through the math in detail but it looks sound

Cheap grenades just waiting to be bought. When someone else starts playing I’ll join back in, right now it looks like no one can play :-[

Jump on my hand grenade please!! Only 34 FTCs.

Though as the game is going thats probably 34 FTCs being thrown away.

Yup, we should make our own - with much less risk for players, but still a good chance to win (meaning - “we” don’t keep as much profits, but give most of it back to players). What we actually earn, we can direct to regular lottery winnings or something like gifts for newcomers…

bitpotato.com has a much more fair consolation system, we should get them to accept FTC. They only accept LTC at the moment.

If you read what sp495 linked on here then you would know the truth, a quick summery:
Thermite Grenade 2x Multi and 45% interest.

Price Purchaser Profit Site Proft
5
10 4.5 .5
20 9 1
40 18 2
80 36 4
160 72 8
320 144 16
640 288 32
1280 576 64
2560 1152 128
EXPLODES

Total site profit: 255.5
Consolation of 5% of purchase price: 2560 * 0.05 = 128

Actual site profit: 255.5 - 128 = 127.5

Meanwhile sites like BitPotatoe give you 45-50% of “When the timer expires the last owner recieves a percent of all the round’s profits”

Which in this case would be 50% of 255.5 OR 127.75 .

In other words…the same.
What if there was some sort of jackpot which randomly paid out a certain percentage to a few people when they bought a grenade and the chances to get extra coins increased the higher the price of the grenade got.

I’ve had an idea for a variant game, once I flesh out the details I’ll post to see what the community thinks

Good bye and good riddance.

I made one last buy as a farewell under the name “BitGrenade”. So, the result (if no one buys) should be fitting in 8 hours.

Sad. Was fun.
