Oh no, not that at all. If you’d read a little into UKMark’s app thread you’d of spotted I have a SE Xperia Play. ::)
The reason I won’t use it is because I’d rather have a more reliable platform for storing and managing my currencies. I run a TrueCrypt partition for my wallet backups and I’d much rather keep things that way and at present my fileserver handles my wallets and it’s backups.

That aside, I can see the work and effort that’s gone into this app and I think it would be a godsend to those who’re not around a computer all the time (but run mining rigs/builds).
        [/quote]

Ah I guess that makes some sense. The app does allow you to make an encrypted wallet backup to the SD card, and though I haven’t done it, I’m sure there’s a way to extract the private key on a desktop machine and share the key between wallets. Perhaps I’ll try that out in the near future and make a post about it.

I think if you keep just a very small amount of currency in the app it’s not worth worrying about too much - reliability and security balance out with the increase in usability. But to each their own!

Why do Apple have to be such plebs!?, would absolutely love this on iOS.
Kudos for doing the work for Android though.

Well, I have started working on some sort of conversions between the crypto currencies so you can straight away find the value of FTC to USD (of course exchanging it to BTC in the background) I just have to figure out how to collect the recent values of all the currencies and the beta will soon be out on the Android Market (Google Play) :D

Anyone would be interested in it?

Everything seems great, just wondering why the app needs ‘Camera & Video’ permission though :o
Not that I’m planning to send FTC while on the nest or in my birthday suit…Just wondering that’s all :D

Possible future support for a QRCode reader?

Already has QR support, I presume that’s what the camera permission is for…

Congrats on getting it pushed and published through the Play Store hank.
I’m sure there’s a few people out there that’ll make good use of this app. Me excluded. :P

Iphone? Or perhaps old-phone? Yeah, it’s too bad it’s so hard/expensive to develop for both of those platforms. I’m not willing to pay Apple $100/year for the privilege of publishing with them, and old phones with J2ME just aren’t even worth bothering with.

Once we get this hashrate/difficulty issue handled. If you’re willing to develop it for iPhone, I will pay the $100 or so yearly fee.

@Hank - Thanks for the great app!

                                    I have two questions.

1 - Will the Android feathercoin wallet be updated so that it will work after the fork? Do I need to move my coins out before?

2 - I have been trying to send some coins from my phone and I am getting the “This payment has not been transmitted yet.” error. I tried rebuilding the blockchain but that just made the payment request vanish. How can I send payments?

Never mind about question 2 - The transaction went through overnight (maybe when I plugged my phone in).

                                      Thanks

All being well Hank will be update this app with the necessary changes needed to the client to reflect the upcoming fork, until then I suggest anyone with any Feathercoins stored in this app transfer them to a wallet that is accessible from an updated client! While recovering the coins will more than likely be achievable, I would hate for anyone to loose anything in the process, plus it will just save unnecessary headaches all around. :)

Sounds fair, there’s a little more leeway with recovering your wallet data on/in a desktop environment then there is on your handset.
Seeing as transactions also still take a while to process it’s probably better to do the above sooner than later.
