      Hi Everyone

I used to mine ftc in 2013. I am back in the game now. But i am not having any luck getting a test rig with R 9 280x toxic card running right. I am Only getting 300kh and have tried everything. Hope someone can help.

Hi and welcome. Can’t comment on the hash figures exactly, but they don’t seem too bad (for neoscrypt). If you mined previously on scrypt, neoscrypt is a lot (100) times “harder”.

        Interesting to see some comparisons.

@wrapper Hi Wrapper, yes i previously mined ftc while it was still Scrypt. I figured it was the neoscrypt dragging the hashrate down. I just needed some confirmation if that was the case. Thanx for the response

Yes, it was a annoying that the difficulty / miners perceived hash rate changed after moving to neoscrypt. That is why Bitcoin has higher difficulty (for same hash) than Litecoin, scrypt is harder that SHA-256.

During the FTC hard fork when Neoscrypt was bought in - It would have been possible to recalibrate the difficulty “reading”, so it gave a comparable out put to scrypt and not have the big “supposed” drop in difficulty and hash rate the miners see.

I found it the other way round, neoscrypt was developed “on R9 280’s” so having a R9 290 didn’t make a great improvement. Maybe ask @Ghostlander, but neoscrypt isn’t so “variable”, probably because of extra memory requirement.
