    • RE: GUI-Miner Scrypt

Okay – so I’ve done some playing around with GUI-Miner. My findings thus far:

      1. Hash is affected by the pool choice. For me - featherpool.com was about 350 kh/s slower than using fcpool.com. Not sure if latency is the problem(not sure where either pool is hosted).
      2. When using GUI-Miner for FTC – create new Reaper Miner Logs, Reaper seems to be rocking better than cgminer for me anyway. Using Reaper – I’m hashing at my normal LTC speed.

    • GUI-Miner Scrypt

      Hey guys,

Looking at profitablity between mining LTC & FTC at the current time seems a no brainer to mine FTC. I pointed one of my rigs a pool(featherpool.com).

My question is – my hash rate dropped across all the cards. And, it was considerable.

When I would first start Gui-Miner – hash rates would match that of LTC mining. However, after about 2 or 3 minutes – it would drop major. The 6950s would drop approx 130-140 kh/s & 6870 would drop 70ish kh/s. This is on the Gui-Miner interface showing the hash rate. I took the same rig back off FTC and pointed back to LTC and back hashing away at the normal rates.

Anyone got an idea why Gui-Miner Scrypt would vary that much from coin to coin?

    • RE: Hash Rate variance (BTC vs FTC/LTC)

It’s the difference in the cypto algorithm. Feathercoin is a scrypt based coin, where bitcoin is sha256. For any of the Scrypt based - the hash rate will be in kh/s instead of mh/s.

      1gh/s = 1mh/s, etc

      Hope this helps!
