    • RE: ICOs? Scam or godsend?

      @vigospqr an opportunistic way to raise funds. Some scams out there but some quality projects.

      You can’t blame them really. It’s a quick and easy way to raise funds without any accountability.

      To have a project like FTC stick around through these years with no premine, no ICO, no marketing and no funding… our FTC devs and community are a godsend.

    • RE: Coinmarketcap and Coingecko

      I forgot to mention, the reason why this is important is because many investors that look into coins take a look at volume to determine the viability of trading. Fundamental traders and/or long term holders will look at this to determine the potential for wide acceptance. Just like gold or fiat, for cryptocurrencies more acceptance often leads to more value (if all other factors remain constant).

      This was one of the reasons why I first got into FTC

    • Coinmarketcap and Coingecko

      Does anyone know how we can get coinmarketcap and coingecko updated to reflect the prices of the chinese exchange, 19800.com?

      It appears that the recent upgrade to the exchange meant that coinmarketcap was no longer reflecting the prices. They’ve now removed 19800 so an accurate reading of volume is not reflected.

      From my understanding, Coingecko has never displayed the volume and price of FTC from 19800.com as well.

      By the way I want to say thank you to the developers and mods of this forums that continue to work on Feathercoin out of their own passion and pockets. You guys do a great job!

      I’ll be happy to make a fair donation in the future once we break through previous highs.

      Thanks guys!

    • RE: How is it possible?

      @ChekaZ @goldbuffalo are you guys talking about market cap or price per coin?

      In terms of market cap, at this present moment:
      LTC/BTC = 3,240,389,542/67,387,859,137 = 0.04808565791 = 4.81%

      In terms of price per coin:
      LTC/BTC= 61.39/4073.10 = 0.01507205814 = 1.51%

      If FTC/LTC was to remain at the same ratios as LTC/BTC, we should have either:

      FTC = LTC(market cap) * 0.04808565791 = 3,240,389,542*0.04808565791 = $155,816,263.011754

      Based on current supply of 174,251,000 coins, we would have a price of:
      =155,816,263.011754/174,251,000
      = 0.8942058468 or 89.42 cents

      If we were to work out based on the price per coin ratio alone:
      FTC = LTC * 0.01507205814 = 61.39 *0.01507205814
      = 0.9252736492 or 92.53 cents

      Of course both of these methods of calculating rely heavily on the fact that FTC to LTC will follow the ratio of LTC to BTC which will never be the case. Therefore, take the calculations with a huge grain of salt.

      FTC to LTC will most likely be at least a half or a quarter of the LTC/BTC ratio i.e closer to the 40/50 cents or even 20/22 cents. Again pure speculation.

    • Howdy! Proving I am not a bot.

      Hi Feathercoin community!

      I’m a new member and I’m looking to see how we can improve as a community and as a project. What are we doing in terms of marketing? And is there a solid roadmap? Please direct me to the right thread.

      Cheers and thanks for having me!

      @kelsey Great rebuttal. It’s good to have these sort of discussions. I’m glad you elaborated because I understand your point of view much more now.

      Agree with pretty much everything you said.

    • Mac mining and becoming a developer

      Hi FTC community,

      I’ve had my eye on mining for a while now and I think I’m ready to jump in. I’m happy to give it a shot on my macbook for now to feel it out.

      Has anyone had any experience with Macminer? In particular, I’ve tried to set it all up but I’m getting stuck at locating the macminer folder and the .conf files in the /libary/applications support directory

      I’ve tried both Macminer 1.5.57 and Macminer 1.5.42. I’m on macOS version 10.12.6

      Here’s a youtube link to what I’ve been trying to do:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKtK_Eb9dv8

      Also I’d love to get started in becoming a block chain developer but have no coding experience whatsoever. Would someone be able to help me with some tips on where and how to get started?

      Thank you greatly in advance!

    • RE: Roadmap for FTC.

      @AcidD

      Hey AcidD, I’m not looking for a pump and dump. I’m just doing due diligence and I’m asking what I think are fair questions. I would also just like to see future plans. Obviously the more specific, the better but like I said I understand their resource constraints.

      I’m intrigued by this project because it’s been around for a while and it seems to have the potential for real world use like bitcoin and litecoin, two coins which I strongly believe and and I’m long on.

      I’d just like to know more and I apologise if I have offended.

      Okay, so coingecko has responded with:

      "We currently do not support that exchange 19800, we will look into how we can support that.

      Thanks for notifying us. Will follow up if we have any enquiries."

      No response from coinmarketcap, as yet.
