Can you find out what type face was used in that please Chris. Also can I have a copy of the mining rig image with out the text overlay.
-
It’s not as bold. I liked that it was bold. But they both do the job well. I feel like the image isn’t as good on the light background, and perhaps that’s what’s throwing the whole thing off. It worked great on the dark background, but it’s too dark for the light background.

I’m going to do a fresh install of WP and the nuts n bolts. Give me till Sunday to get a taster ready and some Jquery effects added to those circles.
I will also delete all users, clean install of the DB and all that jazz.
I have had a look at the theme in general and most of that can be done, though the navigation bar will be moved to the top of the slider.
Hoping to attempt a phpBB bridge as well. If you can ask Pete when you chat next where we are on the forum options and if he know how to export all content to phpBB? I think that was the one he wanted to try.
I don’t think dark backgrounds are wise for any site, especially content rich ones. As for the pic that can be swapped out for anything else at any time.

The new design with the computer hardware isn’t very encouraging for non techies and the general public at large.
Please remember that we’re also trying to engage the general population, merchants, media outlets as well as miners.
There has to be an accessibility to the subject with an emphasis on trading the currency for goods and services. These are not criticisms, just observations.
A simple, clean - non tech specific landing page which is informative; in my opinion would be much more inviting.
I don’t think the inside of a mining rig is interesting enough and may indeed put off people who just want a way out of FIAT or Gold. -
I love that image but I would like it to be content produced by this community, I think I mentioned it in a thread above. Like Netnerd’s coins, the Oxford Blue etc.
I think we have a great opportunity to bring the tech community together with local communities and older generations etc.

Also when it comes to using sliders we need to be careful, check this out

Sometimes good information hierarchy goes a long way.

I don’t agree with the reasoning in this link especially in our case. A store trying to sell a product relies on screen real-estate and sliders could be considered a waste of that space. Missing sales etc.Where we differ is we are trying to tell a story via info graphics and some visual cues. There is no click through requirement, just a visual concept to show and tell. A good slider can be used like a story board to get a point across.
Another bonus is more more information can be conveyed in the same space. Learn to mine, what is FTC, we have a marketplace, the video, ideals/community and advertise this weeks news letter for example… have whatever you want.
Disability issues imho are not a factor if links and content are represented elsewhere on the page.
But if you can create an engaging slider that tells the story of your organization, you might be on to something.
I think we have the perfect case to tell a story.

I’ve made a start theming it, Rome in a day n all that… will work on some more later.
Peter Blatchford has told me he has a new job on Monday so we will need to make a decision soon. He is doing a lighter variation on Severino. If you come back with something and we feel strongly that it’s a close run thing I will just make it right with Peter and then we can make a decision after he moves on.
Are you coming to the meet?
-
Can’t make it… job hunting n all that crap. Sorry. Really wanted to.
Not sure what you mean on the theme? Sounds like it is already being done and decided on? Is there any point in me wasting my time? Will halt theming the ftcreboot site until you can tell me.
-
Entimp and I just had a phone call to make sure we understood each other and he and Pete Blatchford are now both talking on email to make sure their work doesn’t overlap.
If anyone has any feedback please say.
-
I did a clean install of the site this morning too. So if anyone who had admin access who needs it please let me know.
The site can be viewed as work progresses too. http://future.do/ftcreboot/

For a quick win, please can someone change the date in the footer on the current site from 2013 to 2014. First impressions count! ;)
I used to be able to change things like that, Bush must have secured the forums since the attack. I think only he can change that now. I have PM’ed him. -
Superb - I am really excited the ongoing web development will be brilliant …

Thanks! Maybe it could be done on http://feathercoin.com/ too? 8) -
Just a polite heads up, I’m pulling out of all and any dev for the new site.
If anyone needs access to the ftcreboot site give Chrisj a shout.
Good luck with it.

Hi all,
I just wonder if you plan to translate the page to several languages.
In my point of view it can help to attract the attention of new people. -
That’s a great idea. I was supposed to meet with Pete Blatchford (@555) today, I am now meeting him tomorrow. I have made sure that @entimp’s points about shortcodes etc have been included in Pete’s implementation and I have noted other comments on here also. Pete’s just not been willing to show his work until he is happy with it but I have seen it and I like where he is taking it; he has really understood Sev’s vision and implemented it faithfully.
