      Hi all,

I have created this project https://github.com/Slavco/selfnotary because I think there is no need for someone to relies on somebody else notary service.
Using crypto currencies, we need only tool and precise procedure to perform notary action on any digital good only by ourselves with our wallet software. More detailed http://btcluck.blogspot.com/2014/10/using-bitcoin-based-blockchain-as.html

      Cheers

You have a document -> its content UTF-8 encoded is transformed to [some]coin address. This document UTF-8 encoded will always produce the same address, because always produces the same sha256 hash. This means if you send small amount of coins to this generated address ( This funds are not spendable ), when transaction is confirmed you have a proof that you ( you have the private key for sender address ) are a document holder from that time until now.

Use Case: You create a photography. You generate public key from it, send 1 FTC to that address and you perform backup of the photography and your wallet. If tomorrow somebody claims that photography is his, you can always using your photography to generate the address again, to see the first transaction to this address ( this is the time you make notary of it ) and using wallet backup you can sign message with your private key of sender address and to prove that you are the owner. => You can prevent thief based on time ( transaction time ) and you can prove that you have created that transaction using your private key from sender address.

At the moment there is only html/js tool. As I said in the blog post if I have a little time this weekend maybe i’ll create fully featured cmd line tool ( it will create address, perform transaction, backup the file + private key, protect it with password and archive it ).

I really like this idea, what a great concept, though I’m sure many lawyers will disagree with me. :)

I’d be really interested in working on this. I have a little pet project called World Citizenship which is a protocol for helping anyone in the world setup a passport service using blockchain notorisation. I want to make it blockchain agnostic and include documentation that points people towards all the different coins and options they have.

Let me know where you are with your project and I will help out anyway I can.

Command line tool is in progress. Probably I’ll publish it in few days and ofc. I’ll announce it here on this tread so everyone could test / check how it is working.

Functionality I want to include in it:

                          • Creating notary transaction
                          • Creating document+address backup
                          • Verification of the document
                          • Log / History

Send you 50FTC Slavco as small tip.

                            Really love your project.

Also proposed your nomination to official FTC team.

Nobody said “no” so far ;)

Thanks, it means a lot to me! This means only one thing for me. I’ll continue crypto related projects and I’ll continue to promote Feathercoin.
