Neoscrypt for nvidia cards based on cuda: Call for donation.

Very good djm,
Are you willing to get paid only in BTC? No FTC? There is no force…But we are sure our coin will continue to live happily ;)
I would tend to prefer donation in btc… each time I get donation in an other currency, it goes down… so if you want to avoid having ftc cursed, better donate in btc ;D .
more seriously I don’t mind that much, if you prefer to donate in ftc, you can send to that address: 6esbN82brbg3eai8fqzNGm5tmbpiYu3czM

Unfortunately I have to say that 5btc is a lot for us right now.
Liz and Ghost have barely received pocket change for all their work they’ve done on ftc and they have been working very hard for well over a year now.
I’d hate to say it, but until prices improve, no one here on the team can fork out that sort of crypto.
Please don’t take any of this the wrong way, but we really aren’t the most cashed up community at the moment.
-
Also, If had the money, I would gladly buy the whole project and open source it.
I’ve done it in the past and it bit me in the butt, to a degree. I appreciate your help though.
-
up to now, the binaries are given to anyone giving at least 0.02btc, I am not asking anyone to give 5btc.
Also the 5btc isn’t that high, it just means that everyone has to play the game (in that case 250ppl and I would assume that a coin like ftc has more than 250 users), not only a few…
A previous miner I released was downloaded, the last time I checked, 1325 times (I let you do the calculation… and it is only for the windows binaries…) so seen like that what I put as objective isn’t really high. (for the record I got donations from 10~15ppl… and it was the same people who donated at my previous release and donated as well to others gpu dev… )
And quite frankly it is in everybody interest as well as for the coin itself that people contribute a little more than just dumping it…
I tend to believe that if a donation is asked, people will tend to care a little more about what they mine…

Again, as Calem said, the current situation does not mean that your efforts are not worth that much. At all. We believe that 5 BTC for any developers like you and alike is even very little. Our main developers have gotten almost nothing as money for their efforts yet.
The problem is that funding process will be highly unlikely to succeed as the FTC price is low. Furthermore, the team are putting their time *and* money into other projects prioritized before.
However, this does not mean that we have no interest in your work! Keep it alive and I hope things will become better.

Ghostlander, how much improvement will you expect in the hashrate once you start working on a 980GTX?
I don’t think I can do any estimates without even getting started. In general, if you need a fast NVIDIA miner for personal use, paying 0.02 BTC to djm34 is more cost effective.
-
0.02btc is a pretty fair price. Hope you get a few more donations as I do believe peoples time and efforts should be rewarded.
-
I would honestly chuck in, I could cover 0.5 btc… but im not doing it unless im allowed to give it away to everyone for free…
And 5 is just too much… It’s like half of my total crypto holdings and the volumes/prices don’t exist for me to dump my alts.
I can’t mine where I am anyways.

will this miner work on EVGA geforce 760 gtx 2gb superclocked with ACXII?
It depends of its compute version if it is compute 3.5 or higher it will work without any problem.
For compute version below compute 3.0, you might to try espsylon3 miners; I thinl he found a away to run on older cards

github/tpruvot/ccminer (probably)

I asked tpruvot, actually his version doesn’t support 3.0. Sorry so for the moment ccminer neoscrypt works only for compute 3.5 and higher.
You can may-be try sgminer but it isn’t really optimised for nvidia cards…
-
so far all my attempts at making a compute 3.0 versions have failed (not entirely sure why, resource limitation probably).
Also it must be understood that most of the features which allow to increase significantly the hashrate were introduced later (in compute 3.2~3.5) which means that even if I was able to fix the compute 3.0 version it wouldn’t even come close to what I get with the old compute 3.5 card.
So I don’t think it is really worth it to put effort into that direction.
Not sure where you saw that the 295x2 was the fastest card in the world… (and it is 2 gpu in one card, so it is also twice the power consumption)
and this is a gpu from last year, go rather for a furry X or something like that (but at the moment the fastest card for neoscrypt are still the nvidia)
