I’d say say separate as he said gaming machines, although the 5770 doesn’t exactly generate ‘too’ much heat. A well placed fan with decent CFM will keep it pretty cool.
2 machines, an i7 desktop I recovered from the office and the 6950 runs in an Q6600 setup
The 5770 is a twin frozr edition so keeping it cool is no problem
The dedicated mining rig I will set up will be on the AM3+ platform
Goooood! Make sure you get a processor that’s low TPD to capitalize on your profits! x3
I’ve brought a basic Gigabyte mobo with 2 x PCIe x16 lanes to use my Athlon II 635 with. I’ll move the 7970s to that and make them ‘dedicated’ by the end of the week hopefully… All being postage is good to me xD -
What parameters are you using for your 5770? I have 2 of them myself in my ‘normal’ pc and getting 120 ~ 140 max out of them.
-
3 x 6950’s no OC = 1.3mH/s on Linux OS 24/7/365 - Currently running 2 x 550w OCZ PSU’s at present, on one mobo :o
-
I repurposed a few old computers, shockingly getting even 60khash out of some older cpus.
Main effort is my aging 5770 that runs at about 190Khash when I go to itensity 18.
Thanks for that question :) that was more or less what I created the thread for. I think that a lot of people with the same cards can share information about their settings to help each other achieve the right hash rates and temps.

Depends on their definition of old. I have some ‘old’ computers lying around for me too. But they equate to like 667MHz Intel Coppermine, Athlon 2.7GHz, Intel Celeron, etc… Although I do have a nice amount of dual core and above rigs ‘spare’ xD
( The only gripe is that the cost to run them way exceeds the shares they’ll make and earn from :P ) -
Thanks will read through it when I get home :) I was mining with a CPU before but I got such a low hash and I’m sure that I could get a much better hash with my current CPU.
Nice!
You only changed Intensity to 16? Nothing with thread-concurrency, worksize etc?
-
nope, all standard 2.1.1.3 settings
nothing changed except for the intensity
Maybe you have a version with less shaders than mine, I think you can verify this with CPU-Z
