I thought my analysis of the country of origin of Peers with old versions 6.3, 6.4 and 6.41 of Feathercoin was interesting enough to make a chart. I was looking into which countries use Feathercoin, and noticed the high proportion of incorrect clients. or A non diligent attacker, might use an old version.

Most of the rest of the other connections over 2 days were version 6.4.2.

      Sample survey 1st, 3rd August 2013- UK.

The second chart shows percentage with old clients, for each country.

Further to the question of the proportion of old client being used. Using Getpeerinfo in the Debug console window you can get a plain text list of attached clients. Sometimes I get 120 or >.

I have a connection from Satoshi:0.6.4.8 - Is that some mobile wallet number or Test version of Feathercoin-qt? I thought we were on 0.6.4.2

Here a chart to better show the proportions of clients using old versions in each country, however, connections come and go. I have mostly sampled those with incorrect versions, so the % are rough and may be slight underestimation.

The graph indicates a normal level of old clients is about 10%. Canada and France are high, this might indicate problems with foregn language versions not being updated? of the French client. Similarly with the Spanish?

It also shows the diversity of country of origin of connections.

This is bloody hard work, asking relevant questions and showing the evidence. Never even been tipped once.

                Cheers mate,

Here’s my client analysis, sampled over 4 days peer connections, just for you.

The first chart concentrates on which countries the old clients come from, the second chart is a more accurate analysis of the percentage of old clients being used.
