            quit feathercoin-qt

            go to that folder:
copy wallet.dat to a safe place (don’t delete or move, just copy)

            delete these files:
            database/
            blkindex.dat
            blk0001.dat

            start feathercoin-qt

The blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat files contains a copy of the Public Blockchain.

That copy is passed around the p2peer network, as new blocks of transactions are mined, every 2.5 mins (for Feathercoin).

The Wallet.dat file contains “your keys” to send your coins from one address in the Blockchain to another.

                Re: Thread etiquette …

Can you edit / sign of the title, [solved] and remove the “Another”, as that is distracting to others looking for help. It’s also nice to give “Rep” to the volunteers that helped solve your problem, that’s available after you’ve done 10 posts.

Hi thanks unfortuantley this has not yet been solved and I think by trying to upgrade the wallet it has done something to my old wallet because when i go into C:/program files/ Feathercoin/ none of those files are in there.
I only have these files now

                  feathercoin-qt-exe
                  mingwm10.dll
                  qtGui4.dll
                  libgcc_s_dw2-1-dll
                  pthreadGC2.dll
                  Unistall.exe
                  Librencode-3.dll
                  QtCores.dll
                  Unistall.ini

So looks like something has gone wrong when trying to update to the new wallet

I cant even find the wallet.dat file and its also not hidden cause i tried that.

If I load feathercoin wallet up it still shows my purchased coins lol I am now at a complete loss with just what is going on with my Feathercoin wallet

For sure I will rep you guys for helping me but I cant mark the thread as solved just yet

BTW i really do appreciate all the help you guys are giving me and I would like to invest more money into Feathercoins as I see it as a good investment for the future like bitcoins and litecoins :)

I don’t use Windblows, so I didn’t comment. It was a chance for someone else to help with an easy question.

Yes, we need some Newbie guides for restoreing wallets. We’ve concentrated on mining so far…
It is all over the internet tho’.

                    explorer %APPDATA%\Feathercoin

I also believe there is a search facility in windows? find: w*.dat

                      Yep

I have found it yay lol

It is a completly diff folder for some reason

I found it under documents and settings\ Application data \feathercoins

I have to go off to work so will delete those files as stated above when i get back tonight and see if it fixes the problem

Thanks again guys for all of your help :)

Hi all, just to let you know that removing the files as suggested above has fixed the problem and it is now downloading the blocks :)

Thank you all for your help :)
