Nice work, Severino. I liked the idea of the slider, but being auto generated somehow. Wireframe 5 is dramatic.

    I would like to see:

The next step is to have a way that these web designs can be prototyped and demonstrated quickly (to the members).

I don’t want to make a big thing of voting, I look at that as popularity, not law.

It is obvious to me that, in a volunteer environment, the person doing the actual donkey work gets the last word on the work. I see that as the main reward for leading the work, a measure of artistic control.

But, it looks like we could easily have a 3 design ideas to chosen to mock up, to vote on, as a general look and direction?

The idea is to get some input from members which design they like and buy in to the process. This will also help to encourage, design and enable ways for more member input into Feathercoin projects. Its not essential, members can comment in the forum.

That template looks really good to me, I like the direction the new site is going in.

All right, I’ve drawn out a few more website themes. Check them out on the attachments.

I’ll see if I can come up with some more. I think I need to design a theme that has either a more ‘communal’ or DIY/hobbyist feel to it.

nice, very nice, great design …

    +1 Severino

Heard about the upcoming website developments from Chrisj’s interview. Decided to see where this was hiding and eventually found it! Looking nice, Looking nice! I was really impressed with the way wireframe5.jpg looks as a theme.

Any idea what is the quickest way to do this? I think there’s a way to make .pdfs interactive. So I haven’t gone into the site structure/information architecture - just the visual theme of the website for now.

Maybe we need to make a diagram of the site map. Also does the current Feathercoin website use Google analytics? If so, we can take a look at the user flow and see what are the most popular links or pages. We can maybe use that to decide which part of the website should be prioritised?

I’ve attached a new, more electronic and code-styled website theme. I’m experimenting with various related visual elements that could work. I’m trying to go for that more DIY and Arduino style to it, but it’s tricky.

Hey guys, is there any artwork you could point me toward? Namely, a vector version of the logo.

    Perfect, cheers.

The forum search facility is very primitive.

I would like to search on * (anything) but in order of views or of number of thread replies, the amount of Rep contributers have. for instance.

It’s terrible. It’s the same on Bitcointalk. As well as the homepage we also need to work out the functionality that we want from the forum and then we can kind it inline with the designs. I don’t just mean the functionality you have mentioned, I want to hear what other people want from it too.

    Great. +Rep

+1REP Severino, i like the site of the new website.

I like the wireframe #3. Everything is easy to get to and you don’t have to do a lot of scrolling. Whatever the website redesign is, you want to make it accessible as possibly and fast as possible to load for people going to it. Also want to make sure that it is Mobile friendly.

For convenience I have laid out Sev’s design’s on a Google Doc drawing board.

If you want to make some comments directly on to the document please PM me your gmail account and I will give you editing permissions.

    Danke.

I had a good long conversation with a friend of mine who is a great UX usability designer who really liked what Sev was doing. Now he could come in and do his own designs but actually what we realised was that it would be more productive if he worked alongside Sev and the rest of us and just helped to guide the process.

He gave some great feedback on research that he has been reading about the use of sliders for example that I want to share with you. I am thinking of making a video about it so that it isn’t so typey. You know what I mean?

I am impressed. Proposals from 1 guy with sharp vision 🙂
I like the [s]first[/s] third out of [s]four[/s] six.

So many good artwork designs here, Awesome! They stay better, when I’m not trying to comment those with my poor artist visions 😃

But some comment about future contents. In update focus that web site contents can serve two important user group:

    1. Merchants and other business users. Answer questions what they might have: What is this?, why should I accept?, etc. And site can help them to find tools and instructions they need to use this.
    2. Basic home users. Answer their possible questions. What is this?, how can I send this to friend?, how can I buy something?, etc. And site should serve also for them to find different wallets + other necessary tools + guides.

Well, that first one with the tiles looks like something that I would really, really enjoy as the mobile version of the website. Not sure if there was going to be a mobile version of it, but this would be perfect in my humble opinion.

I also really like that slick dark one, it’s stylish and easy to look at…

Great designs, time to shake out some Rep 🙂

I agree, I’ve added that to “possible requirements / enhancement ideas” so the designers can consider it as an option.
