      You should give -I 12 -w 64 -g 1 and -g 2 a try -I 13 may work ok as well.

-I 14 here made the OS some what lagged and the gain wasn’t worth the loss of the use of the computer for me.

but I do other things other than mine with my computers.

Edit: BTW nice to see someone unlocked this thread, lots of good info here and once it goes inactive that will be lost in the abyss of dead threads.

could just move it to the support section if its causing problems where its at. Use to be a ABIT motherboard forum admin/mod back in the day. ;-)

Thanks :) I used those settings I now get 140 KH but my computer is usable. I guess the GTX 970 max is 140-150 then

What does the - g setting mean? Should I use 1 or 2. and is -w 64 the best for me?

PS: What is the max -I can go up to, i assume its intensity, if I try a higher value like 15 or 16 do i risk damaging my card

Here is a good read to help you understand what each do, with that said there are no one perfect user setting,

for your best results you will have to experiment with each to find what works best for you and your hardware.

Edit: NeoScrypt for GPU and CPU miners are still in the works so for now you can expect to use lower settings

for best results, as the miner software gets more optimized down the road you may be able to use higher intensity**.**

that file says '-thread-concurrency,******but when i try that it says unrecognized **

what is the way to set concurrency in this neo miner?

Please add support for old cards, 5800 6800 6900 series. Please!

              Best settings (140 KH)

              setx DISPLAY 0

              setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

              setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

              cgminer.exe --neoscrypt -I 13 -w 32 -g 1

I find w 32 is best for gtx970, I just can’t set a thread concurrency as it makes it shut down, but i dont know if thats important, maybe cause its nvidia

NOTE: I have tried I value of 15 and got 165 kh, so it can go higher, just that the computer goes very slow

Will the latest version always be attached to the OP :) I don’t know how to compile (and don’t have linux), so I appreciate that

3.7.7c still has miserable performance on HD 6950. Can someone please add support for VLIW cards? I would be happy to test or provide log files.

                    Thanks.

u may know this guy called wolf on btc forum,

he seems to be quite good with kernels.

Did you notice any extra performance with 3.7.7c? I just compiled it tonight and didn’t notice any difference. One thing I will mention for anyone who decides to try 3.7.7c, is that it was actually overwriting my 13.x bin files with new 14.x ones. You need to follow the directions from seand52 about copying AMD driver files on this other post unless you want 100% hardware errors (or grab 3.7.7c from my dropbox):

Thread-concurrency is obsolete now. The thread-concurrency and intensity flags both controlled the same, allowing one to override the necessities of the other and therefore possibly allowing for memory corruption and bad results.

Cards that lack the byte-addressable capability can’t be used for neoscrypt currently. Rewriting the algorithm to get rid of the necessity of byte addressing is not in the currenty scope.

Please read the git log before complaining. 3.7.7c is a stability release that does not strive for any further speed up.

my 3.7.7c is been 100% stable with my 280x gpus. 3.7.7b had sometimes problems stucking on to wait work from pools, this issue did happen only with p2pool for me.

i have setup of old nvidia gpus that will stuck every time after 1hour, i will test c version if there is any change on that.

Thanks; spent a few hours on the neoscrypt kernel, yeah, it was pretty bad. Dunno if I want to spend a lot of time on it, but it could be interesting…

I downloaded this 3.7.7c and AVG anti virus software says it has a virus when cgminer is executed.

Of course it does - miners are identified by AV software for two reasons: One, it often comes packaged with malware, two, they can claim they detect more “viruses.”

                                          AVs are snake oil, anyway.

I was surprised since its the 1st time I’ve ever seen cgminer be detected as a virus, but well minerd has always been so no surprise there.
