If/when the grenade explodes you get the consolation prize (5% of your stake) and the value resets to 1 (or whatever it started at).
edit: Obviously the timer resets when someone else buys the grenade from you.

Lets says the opening price is 1ftc and it’s a 50% profit grenade.
So, i buy it for 1ftc. The price will then change to 1.6ftc (1ftc to cover my original stake, 50% profit and whatever the site owner scrape as comission). Then you come along and buy the grenade for 1.6ftc which is made up of my original stake of 1ftc +50% profit (1.5ftc all for me) and 10% to the site owners. The price then becomes 2.56ftc
Then another punter buys it for 2.56 (your original 1.6ftc +50% profit all for you) & 10% to the site owners and so on…
Eventually, the price becomes so high that no-one wants to risk that amount and the grenade goes off at which point, whoever was holding the grenade looses everything except the 5% of their original stake as a consolation prize.
