I’m using the Feathercoin clinet from Feathercoin.com, but I don’t know where my wallet file is stored on Windows. How do I back it up?

All I’m looking for is the Windows path and maybe some information as to why it’s not easily found.

Go to start, run and type %appdata% you should see Feathercoin. In there is wallet.dat

You can also do a backup from the client, file, backup wallet, select a location to back it up.

Thank you, that’s exactly what I was looking for. Somehow the backup option slipped my mind as well.

It is wise to encrypt your wallet before you take any backups, as if someone gets hold of an old copy of your wallet which wasn’t encrypted they can take your coins.

Make a strong, memorable passphrase if you haven’t, you can store the passphrase in your memory or slightly lessen security by writing it down or putting it in a password tool.
