Indeed very nice with a market! The layout is very easy to grasp too.However, I see one issue with the current setup, which is related to the instability of FTC prices.
If one wants people to use the market for other purposes than purely to support FTC then the price of FTC in practice must stabilize,
the huge fluctuations in FTC prices is like having a huge inflation one day and having a deflation the next day, it simply will not be a good foundation for buying/selling goods.One may solve this by tying the price of FTC to dollar on the market. E.g when one hoovers over the price on any good on the market the price of FTC becomes in dollars automatically. This however may cause the problem that people would simply not buy as they would wait for prices to go down as it’s instantly comparable.
An even better solution would be according to myself to let Feathercoin market prices be given in USD by the seller, but then automatically updated with the right amount of FTC. This would give a desired stability, and would cancel out the otherwise constantly persisting “inflation/deflation” to prices.
The prices could then be inputted in dollars by the sellers, and then the price in dollars can be displayed right next to the automatically updated feathercoin prices for the buyers. All payments will of course still be made in Feathercoin :)This was just my five cents regarding the new market :)
[/quote]Thank you for the feedback. These are thoughts I’ve been working through myself concerning the market conversion. Once Bushstar gets the API up and running, we’ll have quite a few more choices at our disposal.
