I feel it’s important to be realistic here. I am not talking Brazil, which is experiencing a lot of protests at the time of writing. I am not even talking Turkey whose recent protests have been much more violent. But maybe somewhere like Scotland?

It’s important to start small. We can think about China later.

Why would they use feathercoin? Why not just clone the LTC source and start a new chain called ScotlandCoin and claim its very very different than all the others?

Scotland uses England’s central bank and will continue to do so even if they gain independence. Not so small.

        Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niue

Not quite true, the Bank of Scotland acts as a central bank for Scotland. The Bank of England has some regulatory links, but that’s about it.

I think it’s not possible at this momment. At first there needs to be developed some convienient way to make transactions. People can’t just carry their laptops to buy stuff. Smartphones isn’t really an option because not everyone has them and they are quite expensive.

Anyway if any country could take cryptocurrency for national use that should be really small country. I mean many times smaller than Scotland…

Maybe this could be some sort of longer term goal. We should focus on merchants first and other projects first.
