Update: In about 4 1/2 days. :)

Just got off the phone with John from Phenixcoin a few hours ago, I had a chance to look at some of the screenshots. Yeah… this kickoff will open the imagination of our community. The initial launch will solve a major problem and then each upgrade will solve additional problems that all ‘alt’ currencies face.

There’s a substantial investment being put into place in both resources and technical ability. It’s not like someone can duplicate the results by just cloning the feature. To do it right, it’s a high entry point and Feathercoin will be right next to our partners at launch.

July is an extremely important month for us:

• July 20th -> First UK pub to accept Feathercoin

• July 22nd -> Launch of ___ on the UNOCS homepage

• July 30th -> JustaBitofTime at the Bitcoin Conference. Btw, if you’ve considered donating a few coin for this investment, please hop over to the thread below.

I admit, I wish LTC would go to Gox so I can cash some out and reinvest back into FTC. I felt like the first 3 months were dedicated to building a solid base of community members and getting the word out… the next 3 are quite a bit different. :)

Yes, everything is accelarating now (and it was pretty fast already).
I am going to buy some FTC today (5BTC) instead of another GPU :D

If you don’t mind sharing, how are you buying? I’m interested in the same as I had to shut down my miner for a while. I can’t stand not seeing my wallet getting more coin!

You can buy through one of the markets such as:
btc-e.com or
vircurex.com

Thanks. My question was more a methodology question. I’m in U.S. and not very comfortable with all the hoops to transfer $ to the exchanges. I was asking if Mirrax had some other trick that maybe I didn’t know about. I would probably just buy BTC from coinbase, but I wish they used the Btc-e price instead of Gox. I see Gox as a bit overinflated due to withdrawal issues for people.

I really wish there was someway to just buy FTC with fiat!

I use CampBX for purchasing my Bitcoins and then use BTC-E for purchasing my Feathercoins.

I’ve bought through CoinBase with no issues in case anyone is curious about them. It just takes time to setup the account and transfers take a while, so you need to plan ahead. :)

In time it will come I’m sure. For now there’s just Vircurex. I haven’t used them but they do have FTC/USD & EUR on their exchange.

I use this procedure:
1, Fiat do Bitstamp (as I am in EU I use mbank which is offering free SEPA transfers)
2, Buying BTC on Bitstamp
3, Sending BTC from Bitstamp to www.btc-e.com
4, Buying FTC on btc-e
5, Sending FTC to my wallet

You are right this BTC interstep sucks
I hope it will be possible to buy FTC with FIAT directly soon ;)
