Our hash-rate is way more stable then 1-2 months ago, in the coming months i think our hash-rate will rise smoothly which makes it harder to do a 51% attack.

I think it safer that BTC-e retains 100 confirms until we have ACP. The client with ACP is buildable and we will put it on a testnet if everything appears to be okay.

According to Coinotron the attackers hit us with 2.5GH but when they hit Terracoin it was closer to 3GH. The attackers are resourceful, have excellent knowledge of cryptocoins and seem to be getting more powerful. I do not want to be the coin that got an exchange hacked so BTC-e should sit tight just as they are.

Once we have ACP in place I will kindly ask BTC-e to lower the confirmation count. Going forward we may someday soon see Litecoin at 100 confirms and Feathercoin at 3.

I’d ask them to raise it to 500, so we are the most secure transfer coin.

Glad to hear there’s some progress on ACP :) That’s awesome.

That would kill the coin on the exchange, the block confirms after 120 confirms, so a figure close to that like 100 seems optimal.

I think it’s understandable that they want a secure as possible solution, and for them it’s requiring 100 confirmations. It’s our job to create a environment where they can securely get back to for instance 20 confirms.
