For the last few months I have mined with no issues at all. Five days ago I started to experience computer freezes this is a dedicated mining computer built for this job solely. Four days ago this then occurred within 5-10 minutes of me switching the miners on with the computer freezing and showing display on the screen but nothing happening and mouse and keyboard not working and the time frozen.

I have re installed windows 7 after wiping the hard drive entirely. Checked for any problems with the motherboard with a visual check for any damage and found none. This problem has still not gone away and I have looked hard on Google checking the Litecoin forum and Bitcoin Talk forum. Is their anything anyone can recommend on how to fix this? I am running 2 x 2GB ram sticks, asrock am3+ aa970 extreme 4 motherboard, 3 HD Radeon 7950s , seasonic power supply 1250w, a cpu which has worked fine, and a 160 GB hard drive.

      Thank You

Sounds like your card is overheating.
Has the room temp changed recently?

This is a classic problem i get myself, even though the gpu core temp seems fine…
(Overheat on rams etc) try to drop overclock or add an extra cooling fan on them and see if the freezing stops

If the card is really overheating, reducing just the memory clock could help to reduce the temperature.
I did this on my 6670 and surprisingly the hashrate didn’t go down much, when I reduced the mem clock from 1080 Mhz to 780 Mhz, but the card temperature dropped several degrees.

Nevertheless the result of reducing the mem clock may be different on other cards.

Hehe, me few weeks ago, same situation …
After checking everything, only reason left - motherboard broken.

            Asrock 970 Ex 4 ;)

Got a new one in exchange and voila it works.

By the way, what CPU are you using ?
I got an AMD Sempron 145 and sometimes got problems with the PCIe “Lanes” while running 5 cards on one board …

So check different PCIe Slots and use Linux, Windows did not work for me …

            Cheers.
