;D It sure did :) well well … btw how do you get past 730Kh/s on xubuntu with them Gigabytes 7970

With these settings i get 730 and can´t get engine above 1040 or the hashrate drops.
Ran the same cards on windows 7 before and they where upp to 770Kh/s stable with eng/mem 1100/1500

TC is scrypt130511Tahitiglg2tc10240w256l8.bin

Ignore the first card, runs to hot so i found a sweet spot @ 963/1220 = 680Kh/s and 863/1220 = 610Kh/s

Thank you, but no joy, 8192 gives me 720@1040/1500 and everything above makes it drop. Xubuntu 13.4, AMD 13.4, cgminer 3.5.0

The ratio of gpu/memory speed seems a bit of.

1500mhz is perfect for 1080 processor core speed. maybe try to go down on the memspeed?

yeah - i run 1080/1500. If it’s a particularly cool day an i’m feeling a bit rebelious i’ll push 1100/1500 which pushes me to ~765.

Stability not an issue at 1080/1500 either - i grabbed the below screen shot just now… Miner started on the 29th September (i do zero the counter after a block find though)…

here’s my startup…
screen -dmS cgminer ./cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://ftcpps.nut2pools.com:5565 -u nutnut.2 -p x --gpu-vddc 1.175 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192 --intensity 13 -g 2 --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1500
It’s also worth noting that if i run with the screen connected, it drops the hash significantly…

Do you guys use amds 13.4 or 13.1 drivers? Gonna try downgrading cgminer from 3.5.0 it would be a shame to waste such potential extra hashing power :)

That’s about what I got when running those settings a while back. My MSI 7970s just don’t like standard mining settings, they are at something like 21150 TC and running happily at just over 740KH/s and I can’t get them higher.

Well, if i told everyone i was running i was running 12.11 (coz the 13.x seem to be crap) then i wouldn’t have the advantage would I? Oh wait… Dammit! ;)

+1, 13.11 and especially 13.4 is crap drivers. random crash and will not work FTW! I use 13.8 beta drivers now on my windows rig. works like a charm.
Never crashed, and i can start stop cgminer like i choose without needing the reboot at times due to bad cgminer shutdown…

Dear (whatever lord you believe in) I shall henceforth never install a 13.4 driver upon a rig again
this I swear to thy.

Newest beta worked like a charm! :)
And after the cryptobadger article I managed to get em down to
1.110 volt stable as long as you run them below engine 1090 8)

13.1 is a must have for HD5870 and HD5970 cards. Excellent performance and stability. Tried 13.4 and 13.8 beta 2, uninstalled the same day. I’m talking about Linux of course.
