Hi all, I’m new here!

Had to register since I have a little problem. I’ve already been thru all possible guides and how-to’s (those are great by the way, I rearly see that complete how-to’s!) but no luck from those either. I’ve been pool mining ltc with great success for a while now but I’m getting new card in a few days and would like to move to ftc since ltc diff is going up fast. I’m trying to get ftc mining going on but no success so far. I’m using bfgminer 3.6.0 and I have tried few different pools (wemineftc and fcpool).

My .bat file looks like this
bfgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.fcpool.com:3334 -u myusername.1 -p x -I 13
When I open it, my bfgminer opens up, “success” flashes for a blink of an eye and then it’s all black for 10-20s and then I get this

same thing with all ftc pools i’ve tried, all ltc pools work great.

Please help me, what I’m doing wrong?

are you using a proxy server to connect to the internet?

the Stratum protocol doesn’t work when a proxy is used.

        You can try the following:

        bfgminer â€"scrypt -o http://pool.maeh.org:19327 -u Your_Feathercoin_wallet_address_to_receive_coins -p x

The password is anything and the user is your feathercoin address.

        It’s a p2pool pool *gg*

p2pools are automatically detecting whether to use stratum or not and react accordingly

If pool.maeh.org works, you definitively have a problem with the stratum protocol

you can check your results on http://pool.maeh.org:19327/static/graphs.html?Day

        Feathercoin development donation address: 6p8u3wtct7uxRGmvWr2xvPxqRzbpbcd82A
        Openpgp key: 0x385C34E77F0D74D7 (at keyserver.ubuntu.com)/fingerprint: C7B4 E9EA 17E1 3D12 07AB 1FDB 385C 34E7 7F0D 74D7

Thank you for your fast reply!

I’m not using any proxy server.

And to stratum protocol works fine with ltc pools (i use wemineltc so it’s strange why wemineftc does not work).

I tried that P2Pool you suggested, that wont work either. I get “pool 0 slow/down or url or credentials invalid”.
Also my ftc client (latest) is “out of sync” and “0 active connections” tho I’ve allowed it from my firewall to use internet traffic (started the client few hours ago)

From your information, 2 unrelated software codes have problems connecting to the internet.

Do a internet speedtest, call your ISP and test the network?

That’s exactly what makes it so odd to me. Speedtest is fine, getting ~400 Mbps in, ~20Mbps out so that’s working for sure, tested btc mining, works, ltc mining as we speak so my connection is working. Is there something special drivers or other requirements feathercoin needs in order to work? btw running 64-bit win 7 and my gpu driver is 13.152.1.8000 if that matters anything

I am not firm with bfgminer and this might only be a small oddity: Have you tried --scrypt when you tried http://pool.maeh.org:19327/ ? The command line in the suggestion only said -scrypt. I do use cgminer on my pool (i run pool.maeh.org) and it works fine for me.

Have you tried with --scrypt? And i assume the command line call for the LTC p2pools (as pool.maeh.org) lists a FTC payout address as username?

Thank you for your reply, btw you have by far best online community i’ve seen, super fast replies!

                  My .bat looks like this
bfgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://pool.maeh.org:19327 -u 6qixdy9diFE8ymQJJ7fQgkYh3Ew7VLhWyR -p x
and no luck. My bfgminer works fine with btc and ltc mining, but ftc is no luck.

Tried cgminer also, it only says “no devices detected” when I start .exe, and if I use cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://pool.maeh.org:19327 -u 6qixdy9diFE8ymQJJ7fQgkYh3Ew7VLhWyR -p x it just crashes.

I think there’s something essential I’m missing here.

I am attached to that meah p2pool so that is OK, it can not be the software because ltc works. Your ftc address is not in ltc or ftc block chain.

It must be your settings, although I can’t see whats wrong from your clip,

I can only sugest create a new bat file from scratch for ftc. Or try cgminer.

From the dev of the bfgminer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168174.msg3556947#msg3556947

I did a little experiment. I tried same ltc pool .bat for bfgminer 3.2.7, bfgminer 3.6.0, bfg miner 3.8.0 and cgminer 3.5.0. bfgminer 3.6.0 was only one working! with all the other versions and with cgminer I get same errors that are in the picture at my first post. There’s something really wrong in my pc

Little more experimenting: I’ve been mining only in wemineltc, using their us server. Now I tried to use both their global server and china server, neither of them work for me. But with that us server I connect and start hashing instantly. And Im not even located in US…

Ok, did some more testing. every pool that has server with port 3334, that server works! any other server from that same pool, does not work. Something with port 3334…

Got it working now, still dont know whats wrong tho. Only pool I got working is this small pro-tech pool with 3% fee but it has port 3334. fcpool with port 3334 does not work.

Yes, and that is exactly what makes no sense to me.

For example, I can connect to give-me-coins:3334 (ltc pool), but if I change the port to 3336 (ftc pool) and keep everythin else the same, no connection, same errors as in first post.

Another thing, I installed ftc client to my laptop that is connected via same router as my pc, instant connection and syncin up. I think there’s something wrong with my windows settings in my pc. Dunno what tho. I’ve already checked firewall
