Is a 3wk verification time normal?

Trying to open an account with VirtEx in Canada but it’s been weeks waiting for an account verification. Wanted to ask if (1) others experience the same type of wait times and if anyone knows of a faster way to acquire bits using paper currency. I know there are supposed to be vending machines that make this process much easier but they don’t seem to be in the eastern part of Canada (Ontario/Ottawa to be more precise).

(2) Is are another option for Canadians in setting up accounts to trade crypto currencies? Thanks in advance.

They seams to be really busy.
I tried to open a an account 2 weeks ago and they should contact me today to finish the verification.
If you look at the annoucements, you’ll see they communicate they have a lot verification to do.
