[STATUS] Feathercoin Wallet 0.8.5-beta Linux packages
-
Excellent work Wellenreiter, we should link to that page from the front on the site when 0.8.5 goes live. The client seems solid now. There one out standing piece of work to do is the translation files in src/qt/locale/. There are text .ts files which need Lite || lite changing to Feather || feather respectively. Once done we can compile new .qm files from the .ts files. I doubt this is a major challenge, just a matter of finding the right tools for the job.

Compiled and running on Linux.
KUbuntu 13.10
Ubuntu 13.04
Ubuntu 13.04 x32 Bit -

The Feathercoin descriptions has got slightly out of date, on the Feathercoin attributes / difficulty change description.
-
The version is still coming up beta? is there a separate code switch for version type?,
or, Is next version after the language / text fixes, is RC1?
I noticed that, but that description is not written by me.
If you check the Suse versions, there is another depot home:p_conrad->feathercoin
This one is a bit older than the one i created and due to the same name the description is taken from the older one. see: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:p_conrad:coins/feathercoinIf you click on the first item in the file list ‘_service’ you can see, that this project is linked to another project on Github, I assume it’s pointing to the 0.6.4.4 Version
We have several options to get the right description:
- use the link above and report a bug from the project page, requesting an updated of the description.
- request deletion of the project
- do a slight rename of my project so that an I/we have control about the description.
I easily can implement option 3) but I think it would be confusing, if we change the name
-
I suppose the best solution would be conran to update it?
If not - we need to control the name. http://software.opensuse.org/package/feathercoin
so we can update it promptly…
-
Yes, it would be best, if he would update his description.
I could supply a change request to his OBS project and hope that he will respond.By the way, when the packed is installed, my description is shown by the installer.
Is there an ‘official’ and up to date description on Github I could use? -

I will change status to ‘tested’ after at least one user is reporting a package as working.
To be clear: ‘tested’ mainly means, that the package was installed and started with success.
Problems and test results for the wallet itself should be reported here: http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php/topic,4574.0.htmlThere are Linux install packages of the client available for several Linux distributions on

I’m happy to put in any text you like, or feel free to register on https://build.opensuse.org and I will add you to the project ,so you can edit yourself
