Is there a Feathercoin miner that’s nice and easy to use for a Mac running OS X 10.6? I don’t want to change to 10.8 at the moment.

cgminer from http://spaceman.ca/cgminer/ is the only one I can find.

Initially it looks good and it seems straightforward.

So I try to type into the little text box that pops up that says “Enter any command-line options here” (it’s not possible to cut and paste) .

Using my own pool worker details I type:

      ./cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://www.feathercoiners.com:3333 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password

      …and it doesn’t fit.

So I type it into Terminal instead. It says ‘command not found’.

      I’m stuck now.

As my attempts at pool mining have failed. Is it possible to solo mine on a Mac just by clicking Start Mining on the wallet? If I do says “Solo mining started.”

Oh don’t give up on cgminer.

you’re not in the directory where cgminer is, otherwise ./cgminer would work. Fix that, and you should be golden.

I tried getting cgminer up and running on a Mac Pro that’s pretty much stuck on 10.6 and it was missing something that only could’ve been filled by installing Xcode. And IIRC the earliest free version of Xcode required 10.7 since getting anything earlier required an Apple dev account.

…run cgminer in linux in parallels or virtualbox instead?
