Hello all, I am new to mining and I have a question about a card I think is fried. Its a Sapphire vapor 7970. It worked fine for a couple of days after I bought it used. Moved the machine downstairs and it started to fail in bfgminer; giving a Sick response. I plugged it in solo into a machine and it was crashing while mining. I kept getting an error that the device driver has failed but then restarted. I uninstalled the amd ccc in the hopes that maybe a fresh install would cure this bad boy. That’s when the fuzz on the screen began. I get two, 2 inch thick, fuzzy lines running vertically down the screen.
      Is this card fried?
Could it be something else, like the mobo or the riser cable (tried a couple already, and switched the pcie slot around. no help)?
      Does anyone fix GPU’s?
Thanks everyone for taking a look.

        ***UPDATE***
        The card is toast.
I looked up the purchase and I didn’t buy it used. Bought it newly manufacturer refurbished from Newegg through eBay.
They are going to replace it!
        Cheers!

Im guessing the power phase got fried? its usually the thing that fails.
Which is why i allways buy cards with HIGH quality phase section.

Her is an example of my sapphire 7970 oc card that got fried=P worked great for 6 months, then poff

funny… this happened to me this morning. apparently the molex on the powered riser popped out somehow. Sparks were flying. Thankfully the mobo and other graphics are unharmed.
