I’ve been mining for about four days; I had my laptop and my wife’s (kinda old) desktop cpu mining non-stop that whole time, and I finally have one whole feathercoin to my name for our efforts! (I couldn’t get gpu mining to work; I don’t think we have good enough gpu’s.)

So, we’re pretty much rich now, right? Anyone have any ideas on how I should spend my whopping 1 feathercoin? ;D

It was kind of a fun and interesting experiment. I may keep going for a while longer (until I have *gasp* TWO FEATHERCOINS!!) or maybe I’ll just run it in the background whenever I’m on my computer instead of keeping it going overnight, to save on electricity.

Now we just need for FTC to suddenly jump up to $900 per coin like Bitcoin did, amiright? ;)

          Hey, great day!

The first coin ever mined is always that exciting ;D exactly how I felt when I first got it too.

How about getting better GPUs? I don’t think laptop will be able to withstand mining for long before the GPU/motherboard gets bad…

As for the price, it’ll be lucky if its $30 :P There’ll be 300 million Feathercoin in total as oppose to 21 million Bitcoins.

You could get some more coins by selling items on the feathercoin market.

Congratulations!! I gave up at about 1/2 a feather coin as I was getting worried for my laptop doing all that work… So you beat me.

If that happens i would be a very happy man. However i think we should aim for 1 first.

Thanks all for the kind words and encouragement! :)
I plan to try offering some stuff on on the marketplace soon. I’ve been making an etsy shop lately; maybe I should post on my shop that I also accept FTC and see if that generates any interest. That would be nice, because while etsy is a pretty cool site, their fees for handling payments are pretty steep for smaller, less expensive items.
