Just found this thread, I get it now. ;)

Ok, I’m reading up on Gridcoin and going to try to get in on this before it ends.

Pfy8TqT7xULRJRFmhQeD5bsJmk1Bzp1C1r
72A5GTNfUR18U8VZGK4UaJHSi2u1i5JZie

So, question … am I mining Gridcoin if I have the client going and CGMiner setup in solo mode? So far there is no indication that I am mining from the client. I can’t do the BOINC mining yet … cuz I haz no Gridcoinz. =/

Any recommended Projects when I do get BOINC going? I have SETI setup, because I use to do that a long time ago. Does anyone have a “group” or whatever it was setup that I can join?

I was minig solo a month ago, then I joined pool mining and then I rebuild my rig and switched to Xubuntu. So far Gridcoin can’t be mined in Linux so last few weeks I wasn’t really folowing GRC developement. I recomend to ask Gridcoin dev directly or PM Aysyr with your question

I was mining mainly Roseta (because I played FoldIt before). There is now official Gridcoin BOINC group: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=BBNGDQS832

wee I’m finally GPU mining after 2 hours of mass confusion!

I had the BOINC going, but wanted to GPU instead (or can you GPU+BOINC?), despite the cool factor 5 of the BOINC graphics.

Solve BOINC with CPU and mine Gridcoin with GPU, thats the way you have to go.
You should see in your wallet so called BOINC utilization (another words how many power of your CPU solve BOINC), if you have BOINC utilization = 100, that means you will be rewarded by 150coins if you solo-mine the block with your GPU.

Ah yes, I didn’t even notice BOINC was still going down there in my tray. Good times, thanks!

Just in case, the new v0.6.5.1 Phoenixcoin client has been released yesterday. Upgrade is advised, though not required.

Mirrax, thanks for the give-away! If you need more PXC for this purpose, let me know ;)

I have to refuse your generous offer as your coin itself already treat me very well (I really enjoyed selling on top of yesterday’s pump) ;)

Looks like 1 million PXC has changed hands yesterday at Cryptsy. Alright, pumps & dumps are off-topic here.

How, PXC came into my radar just today, because of another topic in our forum about CPU mining.
Gridcoin, that one was completely out of my radar, but it seems quite interesting. Could you elaborate a bit why you like it?

Thank you for your fine offer :)

It is a long story but I try to make it short:

PXC…most scammish scam coin you can imagine, 1st hyped with UNOCS then premine sold then phenixexchange stolen money then “devs” dissapeared then coin dead,…,AND then Ghostlander steped out saying “F*ck it, this coin have good algorithm and is working well, I am taking over the development no matter what rest of the world think.” And guess what, he did the miracle, he succesfully resuscitaded the dead coin! I like his approach (if you don’t like something, do your best and try to change it)
GRC…as former FoldIT player I am a big fan of BOINC, so thats why GRC
FTC… is the best coin of all, thats why FTC ;)

Heheh, thanks for the insight :)

The story of PXC actually makes sense with its name - Phoenix. I kinda like it and will throw some hashes at it :)

I heard about folding a while back but didn’t actually know there was a coin which was related… still, the gridcoin software seems a bit too complex when compared to a regular wallet, don’t you guys agree?

And as for our dear FTC, sky is the limit! :)

Oh, and thank you for your offer, all coins have arrived.

We’re getting focused at crypto gambling. The idea is to develop our own infrastructure while providing support to existing and future projects of the others with PXC involved. Altcoin Dice is one of these projects, I’m very pleased with our cooperation. Looking for a good Python coder and other people who have experience in online game development.
