Are there any instructions as to pointing one card to one pool and other cards to another pool while in cgminer?

I can get that rolling in the morning but I’m away from the rig at the moment.

          run two instances of cgminer.

I’m coming at you if that rips a hole in the space time continuum.

Actually you’ll know right now if that happened. Am I throttling you at this very moment?

Make sure you have dual monitors setup. Run one instance of cgminer (preferably the leftmost cgminer shortcut) on the left monitor and the second instance on the right monitor. I’ll post a tutorial vid tomorrow if this is unclear. This should prevent most issues.

edit: debated on adding hyphen to ‘leftmost’; ultimately decided against it.

Tuck never got back to me, so I guess I need to take this seriously since I have obviously failed in my future task and reached through the rip in space time and killed him.

As for your advice… uh. Monitors?

I’m full on over LAN accessing it through the command line.

You know what -let’s not complicate it. I’ll behave and just get in there with the full set up like I’m supposed to. It’s not like I didn’t just make a metric crap ton off DOGE today.

How long estimated will it take to get back to normal? I noticed after last night my work in the pool was way down than normal because of all these people causing the difficulty to rise.

Although the Multipool are leaching some cheep coins, we still have a significant network and fair members mine most of the coins.

However, I have realised there is a balance.

                        1. The Multipools are selling those extra coins on, so more members, who are not miners, can start to get coins. Mining is expensive and technical to get into, so I (as a small inefficient miner) won’t sell till I get a reasonable price.

                        2. If more miners come on the network, the difficulty will rise and we will get less coins anyway. i.e. we are still mining at preferential rates as early adopters.

I still think it is urgent to do something to restore fairness.

But, it is still more important to do the right thing. To combine any urgent change with other fixes to minimise testing, and Members and Miners upgrade work.

looks to be about 4 hours now.

The multipools are using their large hash rate to manipulate the difficulty. It is the difference between the Diffculty and the next potential drop in difficulty at the ReTarget the Mutltipools are exploiting.

Currently they have driven it up to 185 when it should be 165 for the current hash rate.

It we increased our miners to 4 GHash/s over the next block, then slowly by say, 0.1 GHash/s per week, there would be no Difficulty Difference to leach from.

Sure is taking a while to retarget. Projected difficulty is in the 16x range.

Would it be helpful at all if I were to add a Network Hashrate metric here: http://www.cryptocoinstats.com/

Wrapper, I’m wondering if it would help to graph the Network Hashrate against Difficulty.

Welp, I’m down. Crashed during saving the config file and next thing I know cgminer isn’t doing squat and is panicking when I try launching it.

                                      {sigh} I guess I needed a fresh reinstall anyway.

Have you tried SGMiner? I’m getting rock solid stability from it…

Pointed some more GPU’s, can’t believe how low the network rate is now.
