If it was me, I’d deal with all users who registered prior to migration who have zero posts on batch. Either force them to re-confirm their e-mails or move them into a new group with a set of privileges. Else they will be crawling out of the wood work for months.

            lol

And there is no need fo so many exclamation marks :(. We’re dealing with it manually as much as we can at this point, but working on permanent solutions

Ha sorry didn’t mean to shout. I just wanted to make the point that I think some people are trying to sabotage the new site by copying and pasting all the spam.

I do not think it is genuine spammers trying to advertise things. We was attacked the other week and now we have a nice new shiny site (thankyou Bushstar) someone is trying to clutter it up with all the spam

Haha, just looks like the usual garbage you get from forum spam bots to me.

We seem to get one or two and then nothing, and then a flurry of them. Removing them as fast as I find them. C:-)

I think we’re getting there, Bush has managed to make all zero post members back to Newbies again, stopping them from posting outside the Introduction forum, and we’re looking at some additional measures too to make it easier to stop it getting in in the first place.

I’m reporting them whenever I see some. Is this the right thing to do?

That’s what we’re here for! Seriously, report away, I normally take a few minutes when I can and go through the reports, so keep doing what you’re doing. I think we’re getting there.
