I’m new to mining. Started trying it with my laptop then I continue to get excited. So I mined a few days Bitcoin an didn’t see the benefit so I moved to LTC. After mining 7 LTC’s I started on FTC"s where I have been for the past two weeks with my new 4 card r9 290 rig. I really see what this can be… Hope to learn from you veterans

Getting started, how long does it usually take the Wallet to sync with the network?

It depends on the speed of your internet connection. But its likely a couple of hours at least. If you leave you PC on overnight it should be done by morning no problem. :)

So, I have been listening to @MrChrisEllis for some time on The Bitcoin Group and on twitter. I briefly tried mining Feathercoin on the defunct pool “http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com”. Then I bought a bit using BTC-E. Now I actually have an exchange in my country (Canada) where I have easier access to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. Not being in the UK, I’m not sure if I have a good pulse on how the community is doing, but I know this is one of the first altcoins I ever heard of, after litecoin.

So, that’s how I heard about Feathercoin, and I’ve decided to buy a few thousand and see how things turn out.
