Wonder if this will lead to alts following their own path a bit more, rather than just following the price of BTC, that is will the FTC to US conversion lead the BTC to FTC conversation rate, or the other way round.

thats an interesting point
I think there will be some link between the two but both will have an influence on the overall value. A higher USD price will drive up the BTC price or vice versa.
I think traders / trading bots will quickly align the relative prices and make a profit in the process.
This could be great cryptsy is a huge player in the crypto scene and FTC getting a USD pair is really a good sign.

I do, they’re just a little slow on getting trading pairs in the update.
But since this one has been known a long time coming maybe it’s already in there. I don’t know, I have to check. I turned it off because it wasn’t doing anything beneficial.

Yeah I wrote my own using the btce api but it was really hard to tell if after all the trading I was any better off?
I was concentrating on arbitrage and I couldn’t tell that if I made more BTC as the price fell if that meant I had more value or less in total? Lol
