[Dev] Feathercoin Fonts and Icons

I know icons have been discussed before, but nothing seems to have stuck out from the Feather.
It would be particularly useful to have for a small Font to use like £ or $.
I’ve had an idea, which is to use 2 dots above a capital F. I’ve done a none artistic demo ico / bmp.
There’s so much happening (that I can’t learn font making). But, it maybe a discussion worth reviving.

There was already voting about this long time ago. Anybody want to dig the thread from depths of FTC middle age?

Yeah, I remember seeing something a long time ago, I just looked up feathercoin symbol and feathercoin sign, any other suggestions?

Hey iawgoM - I quite like that - what about with the 2 dots instead of the cross F.
I chose the dots because they are visible when small. They are full stops at half the font size.
re: the old thread - might be under Feathercoin Fonts.
Sorry I didn’t look up the thread - I’m really snowed under, and I was hoping some more arty people might get interested to have a go.

The idea is to actually make a font F, I would like one for the p2pool FTC enhancement front end. VRC doesn’t have a font, V is their icon?, Franko’s isn’t the same as 2 bars, and they don’t have a font either.
The main problem is to keep it clear, even at small size, - maybe just the one dot above the F or 3 dots, to look more like a Feather. i.e Brainstorm some ideas and actually produce some test fonts.We don’t have to vote on it, the popular ones would get used.
I started to look at FontForge - but I’d much rather a more artistic / calligraphic person have a go.
The other advantage of the umlaut F idea, is that it can be made of a normal F + 2 half size full stops. So the FTC letter can be made of any other Font.

I did these example Feathercoin font ideas a few weeks ago, but had trouble uploading them. Think I’ve figured it out now.

I think the “F” is a really difficult character to turn into a symbol…
What about those in this page?
Of course I’m not suggesting to steal the font from there… but there are some nice styles I think. And I think they may serve as a good inspiration.

I quite like this, S is double F. The main thing is, can it be made into a Font and does it works at small sizes?.
