Hey all… just a quick intro and maybe a little feedback.
I’m kinda new to crypto-currencies, so I’m sure I will have plenty of questions for you all. Those another day when I have a little time.
I started off with Bitcoin and have migrated to Feathercoin via one or two other forms of coin mining. I have never really had much luck with mining, partly due to late adoption and secondly my lack of knowledge in all things associated with it. There really is a lack of open and plain to assimilate knowledge out there with this technology.
I’m a post grad scientist, so easy assimilation of information is important to me. If you have something to say to someone, no matter what the content is, you have to convey information clearly and make it as easy to digest as possible. One should always consider your target audience but also make it as transferable to as many other people as you possibly can. The goal of science in my opinion.
This brings me to what I would like to contribute. An all inclusive guide to setting up for mining and understanding what these currencies are all about. A concise 101 in a few pages taking users with no knowledge at all and having them understand how to mine if they wish and think about investing in a currency and playing a part in this revolution.
I’m happy to spend time on this, but I ask that a few folk preview my guide and proof it (call it a peer review if you will). Also happy to convert this to a PDF and brand it with the Feathercoin artwork, this may aid you all as a document like this circulates the web and lands on other websites.
So off I go to work on it.
I would also like to add that this website makes it clearer that new members need to post in this forum first before being granted access to other sections. I’m a part time web-developer and it was not clear to me for a few days.

Another suggestion.
Perhaps a forum area for News Announcements regarding Feathercoin, with admins privileged with creating new posts only. Would be an easy way of reading about updates and announcements without looking in multiple places.

I’ll knock about in the forums the best I can, half destroyed my PC setting it up for mining. Using Nvidia and CUDA updates, it ended in tears ;)
Building a new rig when I get some time. Working on that guide now, what forum is best for a work in progress?
