Appreciated, thank you.

Apparently I’ve taken over the fedoraco.in and chainexplorer.info domains, too, so I’ll working on getting that whole thing usable.

Not much can be done with mercbay if there’s no wallets filled with coins to use it on.

                  Random thought…

Could Link also be used to create a decentralised version of bitly?

Someone let fedoraco.in lapse, too, so I just took it over.

Rehosting wallets by the end of tonight.

Clearly, your plans for this blockchain run contrary to the plans we have for the same. But since all we have is experimental software, you could do this your way, or let the community have its say. As for us, we are totally against the “pirating” of fedoracoin.

Apparently the IRC Fedoracoin community is different than the Bitcointalk Fedoracoin community.

But I’ll just let 'em “the royal we” all over the place, doesn’t matter that this is reality now. I knew this stuff would happen, though, /r/Dogecoin was no different one year ago when we were like “check out this awesome thing that can be done!”

So even abandoned coins are unhappy. Do we need to fork yet another coin for this?

Use UFO or FTC or Fed. Doesn’t really matter in my opinion. This whole thing is coin agnostic anyway but we may as well use an established coin to test with… The idea is that in the end you can use whatever crypto you have on hand.

                                  nah.

In order to stop it they need to do this:

                                  http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.bitcoin.devel/1996

In order to do that they need a developer, willing to do it, to institute necessary changes and then propagate from there. Last one they had that did, I believe, the anonymizing feature where it mixes from the wallet, was promised community funds and then bilked. So fat chance someone taking another shot at that. Then there’s getting the community on board… and the people with the still prominent pools for it, as few as there are still mining, look at this as a sort of “hail mary”, “at least it can be used for something”.

After all, since companies like coinpayments.net didn’t opt to add it to their list of coins, stuff like “Pay w/Fedoracoin” popped up to fill the gap, but no one used it so they left the game entirely. So if you have a crypto, that’s not intended for commerce solutions, can’t hold it’s value, what good is it? What utility can be brought to it?

Now all we need a return SX address for tipping and we have a content and payment disribution system with no server overheads. Make it much less scary and this is an exciting concept. :)

                                        https://torrentfreak.com/how-the-pirate-bay-plans-to-beat-censorship-for-good-140105/

However, there’s a much bigger project in the pipeline, one that will make The Pirate Bay and other sites more resilient than ever before. Instead of bypassing external censors, the new tool will create its own P2P network through which sites can be accessed without restrictions.

“The goal is to create a browser-like client to circumvent censorship, including domain blocking, domain confiscation, IP-blocking. This will be accomplished by sharing all of a site’s indexed data as P2P downloadable packages, that are then browsed/rendered locally,” a Pirate Bay insider explains.

Another important change is that the new software will not use standard domain names. Instead, it will use its own fake DNS system that will link the site’s name to a unique and verified public key. For example, within the application bt://mysite.p2p/ will load 929548249111abadfjab29347282374.p2p.

So I think we should have a deep look at how PB is trying to do this… My thoughts are broader and I hope to achieve a full stack solution to legitimise the network.

To me, this looks like PB is trying to maintain the current status quo. I think it’s a bad idea and really does nothing for the torrent networks legitimacy.

I doubt they will listen to us.

I want to do something far grander and broader then what they’re envisioning.
