What is the point in leased mining?

As an experiment more than anything I wanted to try leaserig.net. So I went ahead and spent $15 on some 40MH/s cloud hashing for 24 hours.
In total I made back about $4 worth of Doge!
It got me thinking that maybe I should rent out my G Blade instead of mining with it, if I can make 3-4 times as much.
Has anyone else used any cloud mining service?

The point is that you did it wrong ;).
Leasing a mining rig can be really profitable, just you need to know what to mine.
When leasing a rig you should look for new coins on site like www.altcoincalender.info.
Then make sure you start it at launch with a lot hash while the hash is low and the coin reward high.
Also when launching a own coin some use it to rent some rigs at start for a smoother hashrate seperation.
And get there own coin.
