So first I cant post in the Feathercoin Discussion category anymore, I cant even reply to my own thread that I started a few weeks ago. Not sure why so Im posting here.

So I just setup my second Full node (supernode or whatever you want to call it) for Feathercoin. The first one I setup on an Ubuntu server on DIgitalOcean.com. It took me awhile as Im not very gifted with Linux but I managed. Typically I see about 80 active connections and it only costs me $10 a month to help the network. The second one I just setup on my home network using a Win7 VM. I limited it to only 25 connections as I only have a 5mb upload and I also run a Bitcoin and Litecoin node, but its better than nothing. The advantage of Feathercoin over the others is a much smaller blockchain to download and store.

For those who would like to setup a digitalocean server, here is my referral link https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=d019219d1467 I think you endup with a $10 credit by using it and I get a credit as well.

I was going to post a guide to set it up but as I said Im not very good at Linux so I wouldnt be able to answer any questions or help much… I just fumbled my way through it. :)

I have checked you permissions, and everything looks fine.
There are very rare cases a user, who already was member of the old forum, has to place one initial post, to get back the right to post everywhere.

As you placed a post here, you should be able to post everywhere again now.

Well it solves the problem, that existing members can’t post to some groups, but now newbies can post everywhere again. This makes spam fighting a bit more complicated.

The problem is, that you can’t take away rights, and everybody including the newbies is a registered user. So, if you grant all registered users to create topics and post also newbies can post everywhere.

But this is leading in a new direction.

Should we create a category ‘forum administration’ and discuss such issues there?

I don’t think this is too sensitive to talk about here, although it is off topic. Since existing members don’t get moved to the elevated membership group until after creating another post, I suggest we leave the current rules in place until such a time as all existing members have been moved over to the new group. New members are not a problem.

I wasn’t referring to a private category, but thought, that the discussion leaves the original point of existing members not being able to post to a discussion about server rights and configuration, so it should move to a separated topic.
