      Hello,

I run Bittylicious and Feathercoin is on there. I’m currently running v0.8.7.2 and get the following in getinfo:

      error: {“code”:-2,“message”:“Safe mode: Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade.”}

What should I be upgrading to? When trying to compile 0.9.3, I get some hideous errors as follows:

      make[4]: Entering directory `/home/feathercoin/Feathercoin-0.9.3/src/test’
      CXX test_bitcoin-base58_tests.o
base58_tests.cpp: In member function ‘void base58_tests::base58_keys_valid_parse::test_method()’:
base58_tests.cpp:155:35: error: ‘class CBitcoinSecret’ has no member named ‘GetKey’
base58_tests.cpp:157:13: error: ‘class CKey’ has no member named ‘size’
base58_tests.cpp:157:13: error: ‘class CKey’ has no member named ‘begin’
base58_tests.cpp:157:13: error: ‘class CKey’ has no member named ‘end’
      …

On a related note, can the Feathercoin team please keep me up to date when new wallets are released as I can’t check all altcoin sites manually.

      Thanks,

      Marc

        first help:

0.9.3 has a broken test section. run configure with --disable-tests (check with configure --help for the correct syntax).

If you are on linux you may follow this guide

        http://forum.feathercoin.com/topic/8327/guide-how-to-install-wallet-binaries-on-ubuntu-and-debian-linux

That way you can either auto-update or manually update to the latest release version (currently 0.9.3)

          Thanks for that.

Actually, the only reason I was going for 0.9 was because I recognised 0.8 wasn’t working, presumably because I detected the fork early. I’m now using the latest 0.8 (as I much prefer to use release rather than pre-release versions) and functionality seems to be restored.

Sorry to tell you, but 0.9.3 also has a problem
0.9.3.1 is in beta and you may want to go for it, if you can’t got for 0.8.7.3

0.8.7.3, 0.9.3.1 and 0.9.5 are the versions that should work, where 0.8.7.3 is a release version, 0.9.3.1 is in beta test and will become release soon, and 0.9.5 is beta, but working well.

So far, the latest 0.8 seems to be working well so I’ll stick with that for now. Thanks for the help.

So, all’s good from a technical perspective, but the person who used to sell a lot of FTC via bank transfer has sadly had his bank account shut down.

Thus, we need more sellers on the Bittylicious platform who can sell Feathercoin for UK bank transfers. If you want to keep Feathercoin alive on there, this really is needed as the demand for Feathercoin hasn’t been bad over the last month or two.

You need to compile 0.9.3.1 not 0.9.3 and you need to add the parameter ‘–enable-tests=no’ to the configure script, as the test section of 0.9.3.X is broken. This is no problem for the wallet itself.

Depending on you OS and Version you may also check https://software.opensuse.org/package/feathercoin which holdspre-compiled binaries for several linux distributions.

Please use only 0.9.3.1 versions there.

The binaries are in the ‘unstable’ section, only as they are not part of the distributions and not tested by the distribution developers.

bank account shut down because there is many fraud transfers in BACS system in UK

Just a reminder - there is still nobody selling Feathercoin on Bittylicious.

It’ll need to be taken down if nobody is willing to sell for UK bank transfers.

                            Hi @Bittylicious

Just to update you, now that FTC is still here and now running for over 3 years.

The forum has been updated and is now working well, including the reduction and identification of spam. This means the visitor figures are more accurate, showing guests looking for information, averaging 2000 page reads per day.

There is a steady up take in new members mining as the Alternate Currency landscape has stabilized. For example, cross over from Etherium mining.

I hope you can maintain the FTC facility, I believe it gives both parties kudos, FTC forum allows promotion for your services and it aides FTC maintain and attract miners currently, that the facility is available…
