      BUMP

I would like to try to issue the PR to get this into Ports by the end of this week, if not sooner. I would like reports of anyone’s experience.

The port files themselves can be reviewed, but the FreeBSD committers that eventually work the files into place do a fairly good job of updating it to use the current best practices for the build system.

Anyway, please let me know how your mileage varies.

      Cheers,

        echo, echo, echo 8)

I just thought about it, it might make sense to test the QT version in VirtualBox running PC-BSD. I’ll report the results when I get’er did.

            No worries! 8)

I cleaned up the port’s Makefile using advice from ‘portlint’, and I should be submitting the PR later today.

I tried to get test the QT client via PCBSD, but it was one pita after another with PCBSD itself.

Just a quick update, no movement on the PR process front. These things take time, unfortunately. With that said, I’ve been doing some extensive “playing” with feathercoind (headless) on a FreeBSD 9.2 machine (built from my Port), and so far so good.

I sent an request for follow up today. It’s taking forever to get through their process.

The Port on github can be used. If you need help figuring out how, feel free to PM me.

Here’s the updated PR - with my follow up.

Just a small update, this is taking forever on their side. I thought I was going to see some movement on Friday. I’m going to poke them again today. In the meantime, the Port usable from the GH link above.

It would be great if we could add the BSD port of Linux Link / Maybe highlighted as “Unsupported Distro section”?

Needs to be part of Feathercoin release procedure to inform BSD ports?
