Hashing our own GenesisBlock?

Hey there,

asking about opinions how we can make it happen that we get rid of the LTC GenesisBlock and get our own?

What would it take to hash our own? - Bush talked about “rehashing” years ago, is that possible? - How would we do that?

Would like to bring this discussion up, as this is a “big issue” in regards of exchange(s) like Polo listing FTC?

I dont understand why it matters to exchanges. Maybe I just dont have a deep enough understanding as to what exactly that means though.

If rehashing means we produce a different genesis block with the same hash, I doubt it’s really possible. It’s a brute force SHA-256d attack. Another approach is to make up something with a completely different hash and patch every wallet to read it is as the old hash. I doubt most people will like it either.

The second option doesnt sound too bad? - Why would it hurt anyone, we had our own genesis block :D - Could be included in an upcoming hardfork?

This is the same as you say:

if you change it , you will change hash Genesis Block. When the validation height is 1, We need special treatment. It is a big change, it’s very challenging.

Honnestly I don’t see a big advantage here.

Yes, it is not the best situation to share the genesis block with Litecoin, but things are as they are.The risk is much higher than the possible advantage.
At the end exchanges accept coins that are traded at high rate and give revenues to them.
Let’s think about ways to enhance the acceptance of Feathercoin instead of thinking about a kind of Russian roulette to replace the genesis block
