Let me introduce you to Feathercoin reloaded …
A project to get the key infrastructure elements updated and running again :)
The list is quite long but with the help of @Wellenreiter, @MrWrm and @Wrapper things are starting to get back on track …
So here’s the list as it stands in my head at the moment and where we are with each item
api.feathercoin.com - as you can read here the page has now been updated to take it’s pricing information from Cryptsy as BTC-e de-listed FTC
mobile wallet - the pricing information in the mobile wallet was also incorrect as it was obtained from api.feathercoin.com so fixing that has fixed this
feathercoin.com/charts - update of this page is in progress and hopefully will be resolved before the week is out!
explorer.feathercoin.com - site is currently down and awaiting an update after the hardfork to neoscrypt its on the list and will get sorted when time allows
Spam, Spam and more Spam - wrapper is doing a huge amount of work on trying to deal with the forum spam issues, read about his ongoing fight here and see if there is anything you can do to help him out
**Forum **- With the topic of Spam also goes the topic of updating the forum software, what we use today is a paid product that requires a new license file each year to keep some of the features running! and given that all FTC infrastructure is funded from donations this model really doesn’t work for us. So once again we are going to migrate to a new forum platform ??? this is no easy task and I will put another post up really soon about the direction we are looking at taking this in
Website - MrWyrm is looking at updating the main feathercoin.com website and is pluggin away in the back ground (when I’m not pestering him for something else) again there will be a more detailed post about this as and when the details are covered away
NeoScrypt Portal - Create a portal on NeoScrypt to gather all information in a single place; coin details, miners, documentation, guides, media coverage, reference code, etc…
My massive thanks have to go to Wellenreiter, MrWrm and Wrapper for the help they are giving me on this, but as always more is needed, so if you feel you have anything you can offer to get things done a little quicker reply to this post and we can take it from there
Here’s to getting the infrastructure sorted so we can move on with the coin development. I want a 3rd Birthday Meet-Up!

I am quite happy to chip away at it. Great list of what we are doing. It should make the information on the forum easier to find and help us support real new members with their ideas and projects…
Its been interesting learning about the forums and such and I’m for it being as open source as possible. +++ Thank for the help you’ve given us UM even though I know you are already busy…

There were thoughts to create a portal on NeoScrypt to gather all information in a single place: coin details, miners, documentation, guides, media coverage, reference code, etc. It’s all scattered over the forums, GitHub and various places now.

slavco, an audit of the infrastructure setup once we are done would be a great idea, and one I would like to talk to you about in more depth at some point, it’s always good to have someone else check your setup/config to make sure you have ticked everything off your list

Massive thanks to Wellenreiter for getting the explorer site ready for us again, I hoping that we can get the server up and running this week and everything ready to switch over the DNS entry before the weekend…

It must be all about your backend, then. Really whats with it? Im on Dreamhost for $10/month.Unlimited bandwidth and server space.Using shared but dedicated servers available for even more.Im over 13GB used with all of my ISOs and wikis right now.DNS can be ported but it takes a few hours to propigate.If you switched to DH be aware the site might go down during the switch.Any real outages are handled with 24 hours of reporting them. Most of the time its because of poor SPAM filtering or setup.
WP can handle all of what you mentioned. Ive already mentioned this in another post. I hope the admins are paying atention.If Im not mistaken, WP has forum, there is bbpress, and many other free options for forums. Users may have to re-register. I dunno how the database backend handles things. I tap diectly into mysql and thats about it.Even friendica(thought it scales poorly, is not designed for masses) is setup without a hitch.
SPAM and the website and forum are all handled by WP(or they should be). I have excellent spam (and speed) controls in place myself on another WP site that I personally run.You can stop bots and DDOS as well all in a single move.I can get you a plugin list if you like. I havent update the site in some time.You should be able to add a forum just off of the main WP site, just like running a blog section.Shouldnt need an elaborate setup. I see lots of huff and puff but no action. Is the test site linked somewhere?
I too would like to see some code. CLEAN code, not someone else’s leftovers, from ANY coin. We are NEOScrypt and should reflect that. All I see are Scrypt and SHA256 leftovers from the Bitcoin project.

You can’t use WordPress plugins in IPboard. It’s a totally different software package with totally different plugins.
NodeBB is far superior to any of the WordPress forums you have mentioned. BBpress is terrible.

Vanilla Forum
DiscourseDiscourse is great, but NodeBB has the edge.
