I’d love to see a new logo. Something “currency-y” if you catch my drift. Let me know what you guys think. I’m always open to suggestions. I know the feather is a big thing for this group. And I love it! However, shouldn’t we have some sort of currency badge. Like the two lines on BTC. Or Dash with the clever D. What about this. Italicized “F” with a simple line. It’s minimal. Elegant. And understandable. Thoughts?! https://imgur.com/a/jyhuL

        Nice idea!
I am more a technical guy and no artist, but I think we’d loose some of the recognition value with this change. Furthermore the “F” is quite bold. My first thought was “heavy”. Which is quite the oppsite of a “feather”.
Could you come up with a “minimalist feather”?

@phlosen I agree about the weighting - it would have to be thin/light - take for example Raleway’s thin/light italic: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Raleway?selection.family=Raleway

            I like it.

Bold doesn’t bother me. I’d prefer it if FTC was a heavyweight project.

Better for the failing eyesight as is.

Looks good, old logo is recognised since 2013 though, your new one looks more 2018 though.

i love the ideas! Thanks for all of the input. I know change is hard sometimes. Seems like this coin needs a turn around. like a boost. sort of a marketing makeover. we should def keep the feather for the title of the coin is huge… i belive its integral, but we should def integrate some sort of “fiat look”. Thoughts? Thabks again! Ill get working with the suggestions!

I think there is room for a new Logo, but also a “font” letter. Say as a replacement for $ on non US keyboards.

                https://forum.feathercoin.com/topic/7128/dev-feathercoin-fonts-and-icons/13

I came up with a couple of ideas one of which F with 2 crosses, or F with 2 dots over it. An actual font feathercoin F would be cool. These are just brainstorming ideas I had at the time.

                Single Dot F

                Double Dot F

                Shake F

I guess something that is based on the existing feather shape, white on blueish colors, that gives a “light” feeling of tech and security. That goes along with the cryptocurrency trends (but none of that ico moon-bragging crap)
A logo that people believe in.
                  A logo people can trust.
A coin logo whos roots are so embedded in the cryptoworld, that the first miners were mining with 4850s into Plymouth fcking rock.

Regarding the font letter, how about an f where the vertical stalk is a crossover of a feather shape combined with something from the fof a mathematical function?

@moonman I love all of that!!! I think that is the most inspiring concept i’ve heard. I’m on it moon man. I’ll incorporate something like that. I know i’m reaching with a community thats so boldly with the feather. but i believe we do need to make it more 2018 as this currency is one of the gold coins. I’ll post later with some new ideas and concepts. maybe we can get a vote. and maybe we can get more collaborators on board and to really start blasting the marketing campaign we can get together for this wonderful underrated coin. i love feathercoin. the security, the speed, the development has come a long way. and there is so much room to grow with this. Thanks for the input!

@jimmy24651 Yes. However. Every fiat in the world has some sort of letter that distinguishes its validity. I see your point. Typical is there for a reason however. Why try to reinvent the wheel. When I found feathercoin, I was like interesting. But I didn’t know it was a “currency” per say via the logo. It speaks, business, or tech business. which is rather accurate. It was missing something. Something “fiat-y”. Thanks for your input! I’m sure there are many many others like you that sees the original the way it is. And I’m sure with much pointless deliberation that this will not be a “thing”. I just would like to see more marketing, more push, and updating something that has been in the crypt (badum chsssssshhhhh) for sometime, hiding in the cobwebs of crypto’s. We’re not trying to reinvent sliced bread or the wheel. yet… give it more flavor to the “crypto world”. if that makes any sense whatsoever. I’ve heard it say, “don’t fix whats not broken.”… i see broken marketing. therefore, we need a little freshening up. Thoughts or suggestions?

Ok, so here is another round of ideas. Let me know what you think. More suggestions and thoughts are always welcomed. We have a duty to keep this alive as we are posting on here for a reason right? I have owned a marketing and adverstising business…(which by no means makes me an expert at anything, just know people and see opportunity to make better). and I see SOOOOO much potential in this coin. With the right marketing we (feathercoiners) can be on that platform of the most traded currency in the world. https://imgur.com/a/jfQYC

@wrapper I love the dots! But as a standard fiat most lines are used and are generally accepted as a currency. Thoughts?

@davereplicant i like this. the more i look at the bold. the better i feel about it. light as feather. stings like a bee. a heavy hitter coin with the lightness to last forever. love it.

My examples were for for a (£) font, not a new Logo - Usually with art work, the artist brainstorms lots of different ideas …

Yah there’s a difference between logo and Hex/Ascii codes for the Feathercoin currency symbol.

Bitcoin and litecoin have an actual symbol and we should try and get one as well that can double up as part of the logo maybe? similar to how Bitcoin and Litecoin have done it.

                                    ฿itcoin
                                    Łitecoin

                                    Ғeathercoin

                                    ₣eathercoin

you guys get the idea… ;-)

How about taking the current feather logo, and extending a couple lines off of the side to change IT into an F…??? Then, pay me significantly for my wonderful idea!!! HA!!
