No it means no one can trace transactions past a certain depth.

Zerocoin shuffles who send to whom on the blockchain.

So does that means that mean that transaction fees will be gone? I still don’t really understand, sorry to be a pain ;P
The aim of Zerocoin is to make transactions truly anonymous.

We already have that on the schedule.
What is the schedule or time frame for implementation?

Zerocoin protocol is finally getting it’s needed attention and I agree w/most everyone else discussing it … the coin that implements it will be the coin that ultimately dominates. The talk is that Bitcoin can do it, must do it (by end of year according to 1), but probably won’t do it anytime soon (most).

Then Litecoin is brought up as the next most logical coin to implement it since it would be easier for a scrypt coin (smaller user base, younger) to make this change. But, I don’t honestly see Litecoin touching ZC anytime soon with LTC going to MtGox … why would you make a major change? There’s no way they do it.

So, that leaves … who? Feathercoin! If the Dev team could pull off zerocoin implementation it would thrust Feathercoin to the forefront instantly. Don’t believe me? Head on over to bitcointalk or any other discussion online concerning Zerocoin protocol and you’ll see plenty of people ready to jump ship to the coin that does it first.

Vote for Zerocoin protocol implementation in Feathercoin here …

Edit : I mispoke above and confused a discussion concerning POW/ASIC proofing w/the zerocoin discussion claim. No one said bitcion needs zerocoin protocol by end of year. It was that POW would not survive end of year. My bad. Everything else stands.

There is a great video on zerocoin in the above thread.

I “think” this segment has a discussion on Zerocoin, but it’s worth a listen regardless. If it’s not this segment it’s in episode 18, 19 or 20 (they’re all good).

Edit : The above link is about ASIC proofing, no zerocoin. If I locate the discussion I’ll post it, but this above link is an excellent listen so I’m leaving the link up. ;)

I’ll look into it. I’m trying to conceive what a meta-transaction is. It would help in integrating the reorgs of the blockchain into the chain itself. This might give me some insight.

It would certainly give feathercoin a leg up over all of the other coins. This would be a great against all of the people who claim feathercoin is only a litecoin copy.
